Waco Police Department posted the footage to its Instagram feed on Tuesday, declaring no officers or wildlife had been injured in the unique pursuit.<\/p>\n
Surprisingly, it wasn\u2019t the first time the local police department had been faced with such an encounter.<\/p>\n
\u201cHOP PURSUIT – Well \u2026 the first time this happened we said it wasn\u2019t our typical patrol day, but now it\u2019s just become \u2018roo-tine\u2019.\ud83e\udd98\ud83d\ude94,\u201d the clip was captioned.\u201cWe\u2019re happy to report this escape artist has returned home safe and sound.\u201d<\/p>\n
Making light of experience, the vision played to the tune of The Sugarhill Gang\u2019s Rapper\u2019s Delight.<\/p>\n
Waco police said the kangaroo \u2014 named Bingus \u2014 had escaped from a local wildlife rescue.<\/p>\n
Followers of the account jumped to the comments section to express their amusement.<\/p>\n
\u201cAre we sure this isn\u2019t a missing episode from Reno 911?\u201d one person asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cPoor creature was just exploring Waco!\u201d another said.<\/p>\n

There have been several similar instances in Texas over recent years where kangaroos have escaped from local dwellings and explored neighbourhoods.<\/p>\n
Texas is reportedly one of 13 US states that allows residents to own kangaroos, which are considered exotic pets, with no permits required.<\/p>\n
