\n\tOne day ahead of Kanye West<\/a>\u2019s summer tour kickoff in Istanbul<\/a>, he has received the go-ahead from officials in the Netherlands for planned dates in the city of Arnhelm on June 6 and 8, despite pushback and protests in the country.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSolid grounds are needed to bar people \u2060from entering [the country]. We have not found those in the analyses \u200bthat were conducted,\u201d Deputy Prime Minister Bart van den Brink said on Friday, as reported by Reuters. \u201cHis past statements \u200bare not, at this moment, a reason to deny him entry.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tVan den Brink was referencing West\u2019s history of antisemitic statements in recent years \u2014 including the release of a song titled \u201cHeil Hitler\u201d \u2014 which have alienated him from countless fans and observers across the world. Although West has apologized for them, blaming mental illness, many question his sincerity.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn January, West purchased a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal asking for forgiveness and attributing his behavior to his bipolar type-1 diagnosis, which prompted a \u201cfour-month-long manic episode of psychotic, paranoid and impulsive behavior that destroyed my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the Netherlands earlier this month, a plurality of those in the House of Representatives called for banning West from the country, Dutch public broadcaster NOS reported. The Centre for Information and Documentation on Israel (CIDI) had also called for a ban in the country.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn April, West was barred from entering the U.K., forcing the cancellation of a planned festival appearance. In France the mayor of Marseille, where West was planning to perform, said that \u201cKanye West is not welcome,\u201d the Guardian reported. The country\u2019s Interior Minister, Laurent Nu\u00f1ez, was also \u201chighly determined\u201d to prevent the concert, Le Monde reported. A venue in Poland also cancelled a performance there, reportedly under pressure from the government.<\/p>\n

\n\t75,000 tickets to West\u2019s concert in Istanbul were sold as of Friday morning.
