The event will stream live worldwide on DAZN, with coverage beginning at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT. Main event ring walks are expected at approximately 2:40 p.m. ET, though timing may vary depending on the length of the undercard bouts.

For Bivol, the fight marks the end of a lengthy layoff and the beginning of what could be another significant chapter in one of boxing’s most accomplished careers.

The Russian champion enters with a record of 24-1 (12 KOs) and remains widely regarded as one of the sport’s premier technicians. His combination of footwork, timing, defensive awareness, and punch volume has allowed him to defeat an impressive list of opponents that includes Canelo Alvarez, Gilberto Ramirez and Artur Beterbiev, all future Hall of Famers.

The 35-year-old has not fought since defeating Beterbiev in their February 2025 rematch, avenging the lone loss on his professional record and reclaiming his position atop the light heavyweight division. Following that victory, Bivol underwent back surgery and has spent more than a year away from competition.

Now he returns to Russia for the first time since 2021 to defend his championship status in front of a home-country crowd.

Standing across the ring will be Michael Eifert, a fighter who has patiently awaited this opportunity.

The 28-year-old German contender enters at 13-1 (5 KOs) and earned his mandatory title shot by defeating former world champion Jean Pascal in 2023. Nicknamed “Diesel,” Eifert has spent much of the past three years holding his place in the sanctioning-body rankings while waiting for a shot at a world title. He last fought in August 2024 against Carlos Eduardo Jimenez, winning by TKO in round 2 of a scheduled 6.

While Eifert lacks the star power and championship experience of Bivol, he arrives facing the biggest opportunity of his career.

Bivol a Heavy Favorite

Oddsmakers have installed Bivol as one of the largest favorites of any major title fight this year.

At the time of this writing, sportsbooks have installed Bivol as a 25 to one favorite, while Eifert is +900.

Bivol has spent years competing against elite opposition and has proven himself against multiple world champions. Eifert is a capable contender, but he has never faced an opponent with Bivol’s combination of experience, skill, and championship pedigree.

Bivol’s style also presents a difficult puzzle. He is an efficient puncher, controls distance exceptionally well, and consistently wins rounds through activity and precision. Many observers believe Eifert’s best chance lies in making the fight physical early and attempting to capitalize on any ring rust Bivol may have from his 15-month absence.

On paper, this is Bivol’s fight to lose.

The champion owns advantages in experience, opposition faced, championship rounds boxed, and technical execution. Eifert has earned his opportunity and enters with nothing to lose, but he faces one of the sport’s most difficult assignments.

For fans, the intrigue lies in seeing how Bivol looks after more than a year away from the ring and whether a future showdown with a certain elite light heavyweight remains on the horizon.

Before any of those conversations can begin, however, Michael Eifert gets his chance. And for one night in Ekaterinburg, that opportunity is all that matters.

Full Fight Card

Scheduled fights include:

Dmitry Bivol (24-1) vs. Michael Eifert (13-1) — IBF and WBA light heavyweight championship
Mukhammad Shekhov (17-0-1) vs. Yerni Betancourt (27-2)
Vadim Tukov (16-0) vs. Sebastian Papeschi (23-5)
Serfey Lubkovich (20-0-1) vs. Michael King (8-4-2)
Nikita Zon (11-0-1) vs. Nahuel Garcia (18-3-1)

Additional bouts are also scheduled to round out the card.

Event Details & Broadcast Info:

Date: Saturday, May 30, 2026
Location: UMMC Arena in Yekaterinburg, Russia
U.S. Start Time: 11:00 a.m. ET / 8:00 a.m. PT
Main Event Ringwalks: Approx. 2:40 p.m. ET / 11:40 a.m. PT
Where to Watch: Live stream on DAZN

To comment on this article in the Fight Forum, Please CLICK HERE

Unified light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol will defend his titles against Germany’s Michael Eifert on Saturday, May 30,…

[571
13416,64,63,802,957,342571,342572,13411,173996,185425,151477,57751,6102,342573,342574,342575,342576,342577,85,25288,25290,342578,342579
post-703749","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-boxing","tag-artur-beterbiev","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-boxing","tag-canelo-alvarez","tag-carlos-eduardo-jimenez","tag-diego-larcorse","tag-dmitry-bivol","tag-gilberto-ramirez","tag-jean-pascal","tag-lyndon-arthur","tag-michael-eifert","tag-michael-king","tag-mukhammad-shekhov","tag-nahuel-garcia","tag-nikita-zon","tag-sebastian-papeschi","tag-serfey-lubkovich","tag-sports","tag-the-sweet-science","tag-tss","tag-vadim-tukov","tag-yerni-betancourt
["GET
