Olivia Rodrigo<\/a> and Taylor Swift<\/a> were rumored to be in a feud for years, though it seems they may be friendly again. <\/p>\n When Olivia was first starting out in the music industry, Taylor was a major supporter of the young singer. Their public interactions stopped after Olivia gave Taylor a writing credit on her song \u201cDeja Vu,\u201d four months after the track was released. <\/p>\n It was speculated that Taylor alleged a copyright infringement on the song, saying it was too similar to her song \u201cCruel Summer.\u201d Variety<\/a> noted in 2021 that \u201cwhat seems likely is that the matter was settled quietly behind the scenes, as is often the situation with potential copyright-infringement cases.\u201d<\/p>\n Olivia and Taylor did see each other recently though. They were seen standing next teach other at a Paul McCartney concert<\/a> in Los Angeles in March 2026. <\/p>\n While chatting with New York Times\u2019 Popcast, Olivia addressed speculation about her relationship with Taylor. <\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t really read that far into it,\u201d Olivia said. \u201cI think it comes with the territory, and it\u2019s par for the course. I think if I dove into every internet detective sleuth that got things right or wrong about my life or any of my relationships, I think I\u2019d just go crazy. There\u2019s just not enough time in the day.\u201d<\/p>\n Olivia also talked about the internet chatter when she released \u201cDriver\u2019s License\u201d and fans speculated it was about a love triangle that also included Joshua Bassett<\/a> and Sabrina Carpenter<\/a>.<\/p>\n She said, \u201cI had to detach from it in order to literally be OK. It was just such a crazy experience for everyone involved. Yeah, I think I just had to learn to detach, and I think that\u2019s something that I\u2019m hopefully good at these days, still trying to detach from people who don\u2019t know every little detail of my life. I think you just have to, otherwise you just go kind of crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n Back in 2023, Olivia shut down speculation that \u201cVampire\u201d is about Taylor. <\/p>\n \u201cI was very surprised when people thought that,\u201d she told\u00a0The Guardian<\/a>. \u201cI mean, I never want to say who any of my songs are about. I\u2019ve never done that before in my career and probably won\u2019t.
