A police spokesperson told Reuters that six vehicles and two storefronts had been damaged.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Some PSG fans aimed fireworks at police officers who responded with teargas during the celebrations, according to reports in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/france\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">France<\/a>, while some were seen wearing T-shirts emblazoned with \u201cFU*K ARSENAL 2026\u201d as they stood next to burning Lime Bikes on the city\u2019s streets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Smoke was seen rising from several areas during the clashes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Police were seen sprinting after groups of fans with riot gear and stamping out flares discarded on the road.<\/p>\n<p>A PSG supporter shoots off a firework on Avenue Foch. Photograph: Kenzo Tribouillard\/AFP\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The interior minister, Laurent Nu\u00f1ez, said there was a \u201cvery robust, very solid system in place\u201d to curb violence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">A police spokesperson said: \u201cOur responsibility is to guarantee everyone a festive celebration that is calm and fully secure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">France has deployed 22,000 police to uphold order in the capital. Last year, two people died and close to 200 were injured after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/2025\/may\/31\/psg-win-champions-league-for-first-time-with-record-5-0-final-hammering-of-inter\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PSG won the Champions League for the first time<\/a> by beating Inter Milan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es boulevard, which authorities had partly cordoned off, was filling with mostly peaceful PSG fans, TV footage showed. Police estimated the crowd size at 20,000.
