The victim, age 40, was taken to hospital in a stable condition with upper body injuries.

The man then travelled to Dandenong North, with police alleging he deliberately crashed a silver Honda CRV into an Exner Drive house about 10.15am, before exiting the vehicle and stabbing a woman, 34, whom he also knew.

He then fled the scene on foot, police say.

The woman was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition with upper body injuries.

Police believe both incidents were targeted, as the man was known to both stabbing victims.

They have asked the public not to approach the man and call Triple Zero if they see him.

Police have also appealed for anyone with video, information or dashcam footage of these incidents to contact crimestoppersvic.com.au or call 1800 333 000.

Start the day with a summary of the day’s most important and interesting stories, analysis and insights.
