{"id":706236,"date":"2026-05-31T12:10:23","date_gmt":"2026-05-31T12:10:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/706236\/"},"modified":"2026-05-31T12:10:23","modified_gmt":"2026-05-31T12:10:23","slug":"jack-miller-reveals-yamahas-biggest-motogp-weakness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/706236\/","title":{"rendered":"Jack Miller reveals Yamaha\u2019s biggest MotoGP weakness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1452\/jack-miller\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jack Miller<\/a> has given a worrying assessment of Yamaha\u2019s ongoing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MotoGP<\/a> struggles, saying a lot of the issues \u201cstem from the engine\u201d.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Miller finished Saturday\u2019s Mugello MotoGP Sprint in 16th place following a battle with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/911998\/fabio-quartararo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fabio Quartararo<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1689\/maverick-vinales\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Maverick Vinales<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">However, Miller lost touch with the pair when he ran wide with three laps to go, although he did manage to stay clear of Pramac team-mate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/wsbk\/racer\/995265\/toprak-razgatlioglu\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Toprak Razgatlioglu<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/gng_1319279_hires.jpg\"   type=\"image\/jpeg\" alt=\"Toprak Razgatlioglu, 2026 Italian MotoGP.\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.5\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Toprak Razgatlioglu, 2026 Italian MotoGP.<\/p>\n<p> \u00a9\u00a0Gold and Goose<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The top Yamaha rider was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/889478\/alex-rins\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Rins<\/a>, although the Spaniard took little pleasure in being the best-place finisher aboard an M1. And speaking to the media afterwards, Miller has a theory why that is, saying: \u201cAt the end of the day he finished 17 seconds behind first and we\u2019re clutching at straws at the moment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe\u2019re trying to chisel our way up the leaderboard but it\u2019s difficult. A lot of our problems stem from the engine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe need to be better in the engine department. It\u2019s all a knock-on effect, I mean the chassis is going to feel like shit when you\u2019re braking 20 metres later than everybody else and forcing the tyre like mad.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cRear grip is going to suffer if you\u2019re opening [the gas] 10 metres before everybody else to make a decent exit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Miller also said that the M1 is holding its own in gears one, two and three, however, when going higher in the gear range, that\u2019s when Yamaha riders seem to be struggling compared with other bikes around them.<\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/gng_1318799_hires.jpg\"   type=\"image\/jpeg\" alt=\"Jack Miller, 2026 Italian MotoGP.\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.5\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Jack Miller, 2026 Italian MotoGP.<\/p>\n<p> \u00a9\u00a0Gold and Goose<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Miller added: \u201cIn first, second and third we\u2019re not too bad. It\u2019s more fourth, fifth and sixth where we\u2019re losing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cTorque-wise it\u2019s not terrible.
