James Van Der Beek\u2019s ex-wife has remarried four months after the Hollywood star\u2019s tragic passing. <\/p>\n
The US star died in February, aged 48, after a short battle with stage-three colorectal cancer.<\/p>\n
Van Der Beek\u2019s ex-wife, Heather McComb, 49, whom he was married to between 2003 and 2010, revealed on Instagram that she tied the knot on Saturday, four months after the star\u2019s untimely death. <\/p>\n
The actress married actor Scott Michael Campbell in an intimate ceremony in Missoula, Montana.<\/p>\n
\u201cYesterday @scottmichaelcampbell and I under the covenant of God got officially married by my beautiful sister [Essence Atkins surrounded] by the people we love most in the world,\u201d she wrote to her more than 15,400 followers. <\/p>\n
\u201cOur hearts are full and humbled by all of the love that we were surrounded by. God is so good. Thank you to all of our family and friends who travelled from all over the country to be with us. Thank you Jesus the way maker miracle worker!\u201d<\/p>\n
Van Der Beek\u2019s family announced his death on social media back in February, 13 months after his heartbreaking diagnosis. <\/p>\n
\u201cOur beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning,\u201d shared his wife Kimberly. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe met his final days with courage, faith, and grace. There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity and the sacredness of time. <\/p>\n
\u201cThose days will come. For now we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the days following the beloved actor\u2019s death, friends set up a GoFundMe, explaining that Kimberly, a former film producer, and the couple\u2019s young children face an \u201cuncertain future\u201d after her late husband\u2019s ongoing cancer treatment left them \u201cout of funds\u201d.<\/p>\n
A-listers sent in sizeable contributions: among the top donors were Zoe Saldana, who pledged $US2,500 per month to the family, Steven Spielberg who donated $US25,000, and Wicked director Jon M. Chu who donated $US10,000.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, shortly before his passing, Van Der Beek claimed that he made \u201cno money\u201d from his starring role in Dawson\u2019s Creek due to a clause in his contract about re-runs of the hit series.<\/p>\n
Van Der Beek shot to fame in 1998 as lead character Dawson Leery on the show, which he played for six seasons.<\/p>\n
Despite the show\u2019s huge popularity \u2013 which has continued since it ended in 2003 \u2013 he previously confessed he makes no money from re-runs or streaming deals.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was no residual money,\u201d he said on the US Today show. \u201cI was 20. It was a bad contract.
