BRONX \u2013 The 2026-2027 Fordham University men’s basketball season will open in a historic venue, but it won’t be the Rose Hill Gym. Nope, the Rams will travel to Lawrence, Kansas, to take on the University of Kansas in renown Allen Fieldhouse on Monday, November 2.

\nIt will be the sixth meeting between the Rams and the four-time NCAA champions, the first since 1977. Fordham is 1-4 all-time against the Jayhawks in a series that started in 1940 at Madison Square Garden. It will also be Fordham’s 20th contest against a team from the Big 12, the first since a game at West Virginia in 2017.

\nIt will also be Fordham’s fifth game in the Sunflower State, the first since 1986 when the Rams won the Shocker Shootout at Wichita State University.

\nThe Rams will be led by second-year head coach Mike Magpayo<\/a>, who led Fordham to a 17-15 overall record in his first year at Rose Hill. He will be joined by five returning players from 2025-26: Roor Akhuar<\/a>, Abass Bodija<\/a>, Akira Jacobs<\/a>, Rikus Schulte<\/a>, and Jack Whitbourn<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
