Tom Holland<\/a> has opened up about his battle with alcohol, admitting the first year of his sobriety was the \u201ctoughest\u201d of his life. <\/p>\n

\u201cI had a problem,\u201d said the Spider-Man<\/a> star as he spoke on the Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast<\/a> ahead of his 30th birthday.<\/p>\n

During the candid chat, the star revealed: \u201cI just couldn\u2019t put it down and it was affecting my professional life. It was affecting my personal life and my health.\u201d <\/p>\n

So he decided to quit. <\/p>\n

Holland has been sober since 2022. He shared the role fianc\u00e9e Zendaya<\/a>, 29, has played in his sobriety journey as someone who \u201chas never drank\u201d. <\/p>\n

\u201cI got through that first year which I think was the toughest challenge that I\u2019ve ever been on,\u201d he admitted. <\/p>\n

The two stars were reported to be dating at the time<\/a>. It was during that year Holland realised there were \u201climited\u201d non-alcoholic drink options.<\/p>\n

By October 2024, the Odyssey<\/a> actor launched his own non-alcoholic brand BERO. He revealed his latest range was inspired by his fianc\u00e9e. <\/p>\n

\u201cZ has never drank. She\u2019s never been a drinker… which means she never found the taste for beer,\u201d he told Poehler. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s incredibly proud of BERO, it\u2019s just… she doesn\u2019t enjoy the stuff I\u2019m trying to sell,\u201d he laughed.<\/p>\n

So, he created a new drink for Zendaya to \u201cenjoy\u201d, a shandy that is half non-alcohol beer and half lemonade. <\/p>\n

One fan found the sentiment incredibly sweet as they commented: \u201cHe made her her own drink. He lovers her so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

The power couple are set to reunite on screen for two major projects this year: Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth film in the Marvel series, and Christopher Nolan\u2019s highly anticipated drama The Odyssey. <\/p>\n

The epic blockbuster features a massive cast led by Holland, Zendaya, Matt Damon<\/a>, Anne Hathaway<\/a> and Robert Pattinson<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Speaking on the podcast, Holland said he loves watching how \u201cfearless\u201d Zendaya is as an actress. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think she\u2019s the best actor going. I really think she has something special,\u201d he gushed. <\/p>\n
