New York Giants<\/a> fans held their breath this week due to a rumor regarding Malik Nabers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

NFL<\/a> fans learned that Nabers was stopped by New Jersey police this Tuesday. Naturally, that sparked concerns about the Pro Bowl wide receiver. Luckily for John Harbaugh’s squad, Nabers didn’t do anything wrong.<\/p>\n

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the police stopped Nabers in Paramus due to a road rage incident involving a similar vehicle. The authorities let him go on his way once it was determined this was a case of “mistaken identity.”<\/p>\n

“Regarding Giants WR Malik Nabers and what\u2019s circulating on social media, multiple sources say he was stopped in Paramus by police after a report of road rage by someone driving a similar vehicle,” Garafolo said.<\/a> “They searched Nabers\u2019 car and spoke to him. No weapon, no arrest, no citation and he was sent on his way.”<\/p>\n

After hauling in 109 passes for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie, Nabers suffered a torn ACL in Year 2 with the Giants. Although the injury occurred last September, he’s not a lock to play Week 1.<\/p>\n

According to ESPN\u2019s Jordan Raanan, the Giants wanted Nabers back for the start of training camp in late July. His timeline has been pushed back due to a second surgery on his knee.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s in the middle of it. It\u2019s such a hard thing. It\u2019s an ACL, and whatever else he had in that knee,\u201d Harbaugh said. \u201cNot a simple knee [injury], you know? So, um, he\u2019s in the slog of it, the grind of it, I would say. So, he\u2019s fighting through it, and he\u2019s here every day working hard at it.”<\/p>\n

Hopefully, Nabers will return to his 2024 form once he’s cleared for action.<\/p>\n
