Price will pilot the On The Brink Motorsport Can-Am in place of team owner Glenn Brinkman, who pulled out due to a back injury ahead of a final pre-run.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s pretty simple, I got up this morning and had a sore back, went to try and do a pre-run, and it\u2019s just not up to scratch,\u201d Brinkman said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a good opportunity for him [Price], he\u2019s been talking about giving a Can-Am a run down [to] Finke and back.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m happy to step aside now, just so he can plan properly and he can have a fair crack at it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Price had not planned to compete at Finke, having shifted focus from desert racing to the Australian Rally Championship.<\/p>\n
Competing in the WRX Challenge class, Price sits fourth in the outright ARC points standings and leads his class.<\/p>\n

Click here <\/a><\/p>\n Price had not even planned to attend Finke, but flew from Bundaberg on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n \u201cAny opportunity to get behind a steering wheel or behind handlebars, I\u2019m all for it,\u201d said Price.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s very last-minute, late prep, but we\u2019ll go out there and have some fun and enjoy it.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve done numerous laps up and down the track, for sure some little bits and pieces have changed.\u201d<\/p>\n The six-time Finke winner has experience and success on both two and four wheels, and has familiarity with the Can-Am Maverick R despite never having raced it at the venue.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve got a Maverick R at home, and Glenn\u2019s been kind enough to let me run one of his pride and joys,\u201d Price added.<\/p>\n \u201cUnfortunately I did wreck one not too long ago, but we won\u2019t do that here.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ll see how a Can-Am goes, I\u2019ve tried a bike and a Trophy Truck down through here, and it seems like I\u2019m about to test a Maverick R down through here.\u201d<\/p>\n Finke will be Price\u2019s first desert race since the controversial disqualification from the SCORE San Felipe 250.<\/a><\/p>\n Price had declared the intention to step back from desert racing indefinitely in the aftermath.<\/p>\n
