Shia LaBeouf<\/a> has pleaded guilty to three misdemeanour battery charges following an altercation at a bar during New Orleans\u2019 Mardi Gras<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former Disney child star<\/a>, 39, appeared in a New Orleans courthouse where he received a six-month suspended sentence and two years\u2019 probation following his February arrest.<\/p>\n

Shia LaBeouf was sentenced to two years’ probation over the February 2026 incident.\u00a0AP<\/p>\n

He would be required to spend six months in New Orleans jail if he violated his probation, according to the local district attorney\u2019s office per The Guardian<\/a>. <\/p>\n

He was also ordered to undergo alcohol abuse rehabilitation<\/a>, sensitivity training and anger management training.<\/p>\n

LaBeouf\u2019s lawyer, Sarah Chervinsky, said her client, who bought a house in New Orleans<\/a> in December, was now \u201clooking forward to focusing on family, work and new creative projects\u201d.<\/p>\n

New Orleans police were called to Faubourg Marigny, located next to the French Quarter, about 12.45am on February 17.<\/p>\n

The actor<\/a> became increasingly aggressive at Royal Street Inn and Bar, with a manager attempting to escort LaBeouf from the premises, during which he tried to hit the staff member.<\/p>\n

Court documents show LaBeouf then hit a male patron trying to help the manager and came back to hit a second man in the nose.<\/p>\n

Chervinsky denied LaBeouf\u2019s actions were driven by \u201cbias or prejudice\u201d. However police and one of the victims, entertainer Jeffrey Damnit, said LaBeouf repeatedly\u00a0used homophobic slurs during the incident.<\/p>\n

The Transformers<\/a> star was held down by civilians until police arrived and he was taken to hospital for \u201ctreatment of unknown injuries\u201d.<\/p>\n

He was arrested and released on bail, after which he returned to the city\u2019s famed Bourbon Street<\/a> to continue Mardi Gras celebrations.<\/p>\n

In an interview with YouTube channel Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan<\/a> just days after the incident, LaBeouf said he did not think he had a drinking problem.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think I have\u00a0a drinking problem. I think I have a different problem, and I\u2019m gonna address it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I have a small man complex. Some kind of Napoleonic, I don\u2019t know what it is.
