UFC, Paramount+ announce end of PPV events in 2027"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Canadian UFC fans will no longer have to buy pay-per-views to watched numbered events, starting in 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">This concept is nothing new to those in the United States, who have had numbered UFC events cooked into their Paramount+ subscriptions <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/ufc-news\/381748\/ufc-signs-broadcast-deal-with-paramount-cbs-ends-pay-per-view-model\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">since the start of 2026.<\/a> But for the past six months Canadians have still shelled out $80 a month to order the big events through UFC Fight Pass or cable providers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">That will change starting in January 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201dBeginning in 2027, Paramount+ subscribers in Canada will get every UFC Numbered Event main card live, at no additional cost,\u201d UFC CEO Dana White said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufc.com\/news\/paramount-and-ufc-expand-partnership-canada-beginning-2027\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">in a press release.<\/a> \u201cParamount has been an incredible partner that understands the power of UFC, and together we\u2019re going to make it easier than ever for fans in Canada to watch the biggest fights in the sport.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201cI love Canada and I\u2019m very excited for the fans to be able to enjoy the Paramount experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">As someone living in Canada and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/ufc-news\/387865\/sorry-mates-canada-and-australia-will-continue-to-shell-out-for-ufc-pay-per-views\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">still paying $80 per event,<\/a> I can\u2019t wait to enjoy the Paramount experience as well. Even the big June 14th event at the White House is a pay-per-view in Canada, so while it\u2019s exciting to look forward to a time where Canadian fans won\u2019t have to pay nearly a hundred bones per event, we\u2019re still very much living in that reality now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Whether you get pay-per-views included in your Paramount+ subscription depends on whether the UFC had an existing deal with another broadcast partner in your particular country at the time of the Paramount+. Currently the United States and Latin America are in. Canada comes at the start of 2027, and maybe your country will be next.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">That\u2019s certainly the goal. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/ufc-news\/381758\/ufc-paramount-cbs-deal-details-head-promises-amazing-experience-for-fans-of-the-ufc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paramount \/ UFC deal had a stipulation<\/a> that Paramount gets right of first bid on every international broadcast deal that comes up, and Canada is just the latest buy-up that shows they\u2019re serious about getting global UFC rights when they become available.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Canadian UFC fans will no longer have to buy pay-per-views to watched numbered events, starting in 2027.
