It was early in the third term that Walker shoved opponent Connor O\u2019Sullivan into a marking contest – leaving the Geelong defender to crash into Dawson mid-air. <\/p>\n
The result saw both players crash to the Adelaide Oval turf, with Dawson left clutching at his hip.<\/p>\n
MRO Michael Christian adjudged Walker\u2019s act as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact. <\/p>\n
While both players were able to finish the match, the act was described as dangerous by Fox Footy experts.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo to get away with a fine \u2013 considering we see players get suspended for less dangerous acts, I think he\u2019ll be very lucky.\u201d<\/p>\n
Walker will miss Adelaide\u2019s Round 14 clash with the Bulldogs, pending a potential challenge. <\/p>\n
AFL great Jason Dunstall said any player engaging in that act needed to be suspended to get it stamped out.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy issue \u2013 and I don\u2019t want to see Tex Walker suspended because I like him playing the game – but if you need to get this out of the game, you need to eliminate that act,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cDon\u2019t just worry about the result and is he concussed or not? Every time someone does it, you have to suspend them if you want to eliminate that act.<\/p>\n

Sarah Jones described Walker\u2019s actions as \u201cincredibly reckless\u201d, while Jon Ralph said there was no doubt it would come under Match Review scrutiny.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think he\u2019s going to get suspended, but it was a really ordinary act \u2013 one that the AFL very strongly discourages there,\u201d Ralph shared.<\/p>\n

Walker wasn\u2019t the only player sweating on the AFL\u2019s Match Review, with Geelong star Tom Stewart drawing attention for his bump on opponent Cal Ah Chee.<\/p>\n
Ah Chee didn\u2019t finish the match – but that was due to a hamstring injury rather than as a result of the bump in the second term.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s got a couple of ways he can escape suspension and play next week against the Suns,\u201d Ralph said of Stewart.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can see it does look like he leans into that contest. He\u2019d have to be near stationary, that\u2019s the phrasing\u2026 for it to be seen as bracing rather than the bump.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe secondary one \u2013 is it high? Is it to the head of Ah Chee? We can\u2019t quite see that. It\u2019s really hard to see whether that is high.<\/p>\n
\u201cMichael Christian will have about 15 different angles, he\u2019ll assess it there as well.<\/p>\n
\u201cBoth of those players will be nervous ahead of the MRO tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n
On Friday, the MRO determined: \u201cStewart gets to a near-stationary position and braces for contact as Ah Chee\u2019s momentum makes contact inevitable. Contact is made predominantly to the body. It was the view of the MRO that Stewart\u2019s actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances and did not constitute a reportable offence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dunstall said he\u2019d be \u201cdisappointed\u201d if Stewart was banned for that act.<\/p>\n
\u201cLooks worse in slow motion \u2013 and the fact is he was going into the contest Stewart,\u201d he said on Fox Footy.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think contact was inevitable.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe just turns.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhilst Ralphy is suggesting he didn\u2019t necessarily just brace, I think he turned his back. When he felt the contact, he then sort of pushed him off.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d be disappointed if he got rubbed out for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
