{"id":71808,"date":"2025-08-16T03:48:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-16T03:48:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/71808\/"},"modified":"2025-08-16T03:48:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-16T03:48:09","slug":"july-unemployment-rates-rise-in-north-bay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/71808\/","title":{"rendered":"July unemployment rates rise in North Bay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The highest rate of joblessness in July was in Lake County at 7.6%, while Napa County\u2019s rate of 4.4% was the lowest in the six-county region.<\/p>\n<p>Jobless rates in July rose in the six-county North Bay region for the second straight month, according to figures released Friday.<\/p>\n<p>California\u2019s month-over-month rate ticked up from 5.4% in June to 5.5% in July, according to the state Employment Development Department.<\/p>\n<p>Napa County\u2019s unemployment rate of 4.4% in July was the lowest in the region. Marin and Sonoma counties followed, with rates of 4.8% and 4.9%, respectively. Solano County\u2019s jobless rate last month was 5.9%. Mendocino County\u2019s unemployment rate was 6.1% and Lake County\u2019s rate was 7.6%, according to the EDD.<\/p>\n<p>Since April 2020, California has gained more than 3 million jobs, driven primarily by two industries: private education and health services, and government, according to the state agency.<\/p>\n<p>Napa County<\/p>\n<p>The unemployment rate in Napa County was 4.4% in July, up from a revised 4.2% in June. The rate in July 2024 was 4%.<\/p>\n<p>The county added jobs in manufacturing; mining, logging and construction; and leisure and hospitality. Fewer jobs were available in government.<\/p>\n<p>Marin County<\/p>\n<p>The unemployment rate in Marin County was 4.8% in July, up from a revised 4.5% in June. The rate in July 2024 was 4.3%.<\/p>\n<p>The county added jobs in trade, transportation and utilities, and leisure and hospitality. Fewer jobs were available in government, and professional and business services.<\/p>\n<p>Sonoma County<\/p>\n<p>The unemployment rate in Sonoma County was 4.9% in July, up from a revised 4.7% in June. The rate in July 2024 was 4.5%.<\/p>\n<p>The county added jobs in manufacturing; trade, transportation and utilities; financial activities; professional and business services; and private education and health services. Fewer jobs were available in construction, government, and leisure and hospitality.<\/p>\n<p>Solano County<\/p>\n<p>The unemployment rate in Solano County was 5.9% in July, up from a revised 5.6% in June. The rate in July 2024 was 5.4%.<\/p>\n<p>The county added jobs in manufacturing; trade, transportation and utilities; professional and business services; and leisure and hospitality. Fewer jobs were available in construction, government, and private education and health services.<\/p>\n<p>Mendocino County<\/p>\n<p>The jobless rate in Mendocino County was 6.1% in July, up from a revised 5.8% in June. The rate in July 2024 was 5.7%.<\/p>\n<p>The county added jobs in mining, logging and construction; manufacturing; trade, transportation, warehousing and utilities; retail trade; financial activities; professional and business services; leisure and hospitality; and federal government. Fewer jobs were available in state and local government.<\/p>\n<p>Lake County<\/p>\n<p>The jobless rate in Lake County was 7.6% in July, up from a revised 7.3% in June. The rate in July 2024 was 7.1%.<\/p>\n<p>The county added jobs in manufacturing, mining, logging and construction; trade, transportation, warehousing and utilities; retail trade; professional and business services; private education and health services; and leisure and hospitality.
