Frogwares has launched a surprise The Sinking City 2<\/a>\u00a0demo at Summer Game Fest, alongside news of the game\u2019s full 18 August release date.<\/p>\n \u201cThe demo covers the opening hour of the full game and offers an early look at Frogwares\u2019 take on survival horror,\u201d the studio said in a press release. \u201cIt also provides the first opportunity to properly meet the new protagonist, occult adventurer Calvin Rafferty, and begin uncovering the reasons behind his tragic and arduous journey into the flooded and Eldritch monster-infested city of Arkham.\u201d<\/p>\n You can grab the demo right here on Windows PC via Steam<\/a>.<\/p>\n Alongside the demo and the 18 August release date, Frogwares also released a new trailer, shown below.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Kyiv-based studio also explained its decision to release in August this year. The title was first expected in 2025, but was delayed to this year in the face of Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cEven during the week we finally picked a release date internally as a team, our feelings of joy and relief were quickly dampened when, that very\u00a0Sunday, cities across the country came under some of the worst attacks since the start of the war. It felt like some vindictive force reminding us not to celebrate too much because everything could still change in an instant,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n \u201cBut despite all this, we\u2019re keeping our heads up. We\u2019re beyond proud and in awe of how we\u2019ve come together through all of this, and we\u2019re happy to have finally brought the game to a point where we can see its release on the horizon.\u201d<\/p>\n
