UFC Vegas 118<\/a> went down last night (Sat., June 6, 2026) inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, which saw Gabriel Bonfim put on the best performance of his career by dominating former Welterweight champion, Belal Muhammad, for five rounds (recap here<\/a>). In the co-main event, Brendan Allen defeated Edmen Shahbazyan via unanimous decision<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Biggest Winner: Gabriel Bonfim<\/p>\n

The 28 year-old Brazilian bomber secured the biggest win of his career by out-classing a former champion in Muhammad, extending his win streak to five straight, all while improving his overall UFC record to 7-1. Bonfim can expect to crash the Top 5<\/a> after his huge win, and one or two more wins could put him in a title fight. Welterweight is stacked with contenders, and Bonfim just crowded the top of the weight class a bit more thanks to his masterful win.<\/p>\n

Runner (s) Up: Brendan Allen and Bryce Mitchell<\/p>\n

Allen improved his win streak to three in a row after busting Shabazyan<\/a> up in a bloody war, which will likely put him in the Top 3. Allen has really looked great as of late and one more impressive win like the one he had last night in \u201cSin City\u201d could be what he needs to put him in his first-ever UFC title fight after seven years with the promotion. As for Mitchell, he locked down his second straight impressive win in the last 12 months after submitting Santiago Luna with seconds remaining in the fight (see it again here<\/a>). \u201cThug Nasty\u201d might have done enough to earn a spot in the Top 15 now that he is 2-0 in his return to Bantamweight. He may be a littly goofy with his hot takes. but Mitchell has shown that he still has the goods inside the cage.<\/p>\n

Biggest Loser: Belal Muhammad<\/p>\n

From being on top of the Welterweight mountain to now losing three in a row, it\u2019s been a rough couple of years for the man they call \u201cRemember the Name.\u201d Last night, Muhammad was hoping to bounce back after losing his title to Jack Della Maddalena, and then getting shut out by Ian Machado Garry, but it went from bad to worse for the former champion after getting out-worked by Bonfim. With three straight defeats on his resume, a title shot is so far out of reach for Muhammad that he may consider a change in weight class in order to try a fresh run in a new division if he wants to make a run at the title again.<\/p>\n
