Milan Lucic is calling it a career.<\/p>\n
The 17-year veteran officially announced his retirement on Sunday morning after skating in 1,177 regular-season games during the course of his NHL career.<\/p>\n
Lucic, 37, scored 233 goals with 353 assists in his time with the Boston Bruins<\/a>, Los Angeles Kings<\/a>, Edmonton Oilers<\/a>, and Calgary Flames<\/a>. He last appeared during the 2023-24 season, skating in four games in his second stint in Boston.<\/p>\n The Vancouver native helped the Bruins to a Stanley Cup title in 2010-11 season, scoring five goals and 12 points across 25 games on their way to a Game 7 victory over the Vancouver Canucks<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cLooking back on my career, I feel truly grateful to have fulfilled my dream of playing professional hockey, culminating with a Stanley Cup win in 2011 with the Boston Bruins<\/a>,\u201d Lucic said in a statement announcing his retirement.<\/p>\n \u201cI want to especially thank the Bruins for giving me my start in professional hockey and for instilling the confidence to reach new heights as a player. Later in my career, I had the privilege of playing with some exceptional organizations in Los Angeles, Edmonton and Calgary. I look back with fondness at the time I spent with each organization and for the remarkable teammates I had the pleasure of playing alongside.\u201d<\/p>\n
