It\u2019s been revealed during the Xbox Showcase that the upcoming remake of 2001\u2019s Halo: Combat Evolved will have three all-new missions, and we\u2019ve finally got a confirmed release date.<\/p>\n

Halo: Campaign Evolved was announced in 2025<\/a>, and it will be a faithful remake of the beloved original Xbox launch title powered by Unreal Engine 5. However, it\u2019s going to be more than just a faithful remake.<\/p>\n

As well as having vastly improved graphics, performance and control options, Halo<\/a>: Campaign Evolved will have three brand-new missions for the remake, told from the perspective of Sergeant Major Avery Junior Johnson, fighting alongside the Master Chief.<\/p>\n

This certainly adds a new dimension to the remake and follows in the footsteps of other remakes like 2002\u2019s Resident Evil and 2024\u2019s Silent Hill 2 by offering new locations. As if we weren’t already hyped as it is for this release.<\/p>\n

What Are the New Missions in Halo: Combat Evolved Remake?<\/p>\n

While we don\u2019t know all the details on the new missions at the time of writing, we do know that the mission revealed during the Xbox<\/a> Showcase is called \u2018Operation: Meteorite.\u201d If this first look is anything to go by, playing through these missions as the popular Sergeant should be an absolute blast.<\/p>\n

In the mission \u2018Operation: Meteorite\u2019, it features an area that has been overtaken by the Covenant, and it will introduce new enemies, such as the \u2018Brute Berserker\u2019, who looks like a total beast, quite literally. The new missions will also have new enemy variants, as well as new weapons, all played in a sandbox of mayhem<\/p>\n

What Else Can We Expect in the Remake?<\/p>\n

\u201cExperience the original story rebuilt with high-definition visuals, updated cinematics, and refined controls, gameplay-modifying ‘Skulls’ \u2013 optional modifiers that change combat in fun and challenging ways \u2013 add fresh tactics and endless replayability,\u201d reads the description of the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlay it your way: solo, in 2-player split-screen co-op (console only), or up to 4-player online co-op with full crossplay and cross-progression support. Whether you\u2019re discovering Halo for the first time or returning to the ring after 25 years, Halo: Campaign Evolved delivers an adventure that feels both timeless and brand new.\u201d<\/p>\n

Halo: Campaign Evolved Release Date<\/p>\n

Halo: Campaign Evolved will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X\/S next month, on July 28, 2026. So, we\u2019ve only got just over a month to wait.<\/p>\n

However, those who pre-order the Premium or Collector\u2019s Edition will get the game five days earlier than the standard edition on 23 July. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will also get early access.<\/p>\n
