Nelly Korda on her mindset shift ahead of Round 4<\/p>\n
Korda, whose best U.S Open finish was a tie for second last year at Erin Hills, said on Saturday that her takeaway from 2025 was that she wanted to put herself in that close position more often.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think last year I really, really wanted it, and the more you want it, sometimes the more you stiffen up and you get a little bit more nervous,\u201d Korda said. \u201cI play my best golf when I\u2019m happy, free Nelly, and I\u2019m kind of joking around out there. So that\u2019s kind of the attitude that I\u2019m going to have tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n
She added that she\u2019s tried to adopt a mindset shift heading into this year\u2019s open.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve tried to have the attitude of instead of saying, \u2018I\u2019m screwed in this position, oh, here we go again,\u2019 I\u2019m just going to embrace the challenges and I\u2019m not going to walk off the golf course, I\u2019m just going to figure it out,\u201d Korda said. \u201cThat\u2019s kind of been my attitude this year is no matter what it throws at me\u2026I\u2019ll figure it out. And that\u2019s kind of been the attitude I\u2019ve tried to change to, because I think the worst thing that you can be \u2014 but which I am still \u2014 is a perfectionist in this sport.\u201d<\/p>\n
