{"id":723667,"date":"2026-06-08T20:01:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T20:01:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/723667\/"},"modified":"2026-06-08T20:01:14","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T20:01:14","slug":"south-west-australia-in-for-wet-and-windy-week-as-multiple-cold-fronts-bring-rain-and-storms-to-wa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/723667\/","title":{"rendered":"South-west Australia in for wet and windy week as multiple cold fronts bring rain and storms to WA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The nation&#8217;s south-west is set for a wet and windy few days, as multiple cold fronts bring intense rain and stormy conditions to Western Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Cold and wet weather set in over Monday for southern parts of WA as the first of several fronts swept through the state.<\/p>\n<p>Sky News Weather Meteorologist Tamsin Green explained &#8220;some local spots measured nearly 30 millimetres of rain in just 30 minutes&#8221;, with strong wind gusts helping add to the wild conditions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Taking a look at those wind gusts, we&#8217;ve seen them ramp up through Monday day time and into the early hours of Tuesday, as well, they&#8217;ll continue to strengthen,&#8221; she added.<\/p>\n<p>The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a gale warning for the Leeuwin Coast, Albany Coast, Esperance Coast, and Eucla Coast on Tuesday, with strong winds also expected in Perth Local Waters, the Gascoyne Coast, Geraldton Coast, Lancelin Coast, Perth Coast, and Bunbury Geographe Coast.<\/p>\n<p>High winds are helping drive major swells off the southern WA coast, as high as seven metres in some areas, prompting warnings for anyone considering venturing out into the surf.<\/p>\n<p>Wet and wild conditions are set to stick around over Tuesday and beyond, Green said, with another front forecast to sweep through southern Australia over the remainder of the week.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In terms of temperatures, it&#8217;s that second cold front that&#8217;s going to be bringing a more noticeable drop through to Tuesday morning,&#8221;
