Google announced Wear OS 7 less than a month ago and, apparently, it\u2019s already ready to roll out, as Verizon has let it slip that three Pixel Watch models are about to get the latest update.<\/p>\n
Wear OS 7 is by no means a \u201cmajor\u201d update to Google\u2019s smartwatch platform, but it\u2019s not particularly small either. As announced in May, the update will feature Live Updates, support for widgets (in a rework of Tiles<\/a>), an update to the media player, a new workout tracking experience for third-party apps, and more.<\/p>\n Google said the update would be available \u201clater this year,\u201d so it\u2019s pretty surprising that, apparently, it\u2019s going to land any day now.<\/p>\n Verizon today posted changelogs (via Droid-Life<\/a>) for Pixel Watch 2<\/a>, Pixel Watch 3<\/a>, and Pixel Watch 4<\/a>, all for Wear OS 7 updates and carrying the following version numbers:<\/p>\n \tAdvertisement – scroll for more content<\/p>\n Pixel Watch 2:\u00a0CP2A.260603.001<\/p>\n Pixel Watch 3: CP2A.260603.001<\/p>\n Pixel Watch 4: CP2A.260603.001<\/p>\n There\u2019s no such update listed for the original Pixel Watch, implying the 2022 release might not get this update. Google only promised <\/a>updates through October 2025.<\/p>\n The changelog is not very in-depth, only saying that Pixel Watches will be getting Wear OS 7, the June 2026 security patch, and \u201cperformance and stability improvements.\u201d But that\u2019s not exactly out of line \u2013 Verizon\u2019s smartwatch update changelogs are pretty bare bones.<\/p>\n The latest Wear OS 7 update.<\/p>\n The most up to date Android Security Patch.<\/p>\n Performance and stability improvements.<\/p>\n All three updates are listed as being released today, but there\u2019s no sign of that on Google\u2019s side \u2013 and we probably would have already seen something about that if the release were actually starting today.
