{"id":726262,"date":"2026-06-10T00:38:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-10T00:38:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/726262\/"},"modified":"2026-06-10T00:38:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-10T00:38:11","slug":"cricket-2026-bangladesh-v-australia-first-odi-results-scores-highlights-josh-inglis-send-off-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/726262\/","title":{"rendered":"Cricket 2026 Bangladesh v Australia first ODI results, scores, highlights; Josh Inglis send-off, video"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nine.com.au\/topic\/australian-cricket-jf3\" class=\"sc-ezrozd dxCwVA\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Australia<\/a> has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nine.com.au\/sport\/cricket\/live-scores\/bangladesh-v-australia-australia-tour-of-bangladesh-2026\/baau06092026270618\" class=\"sc-ezrozd dxCwVA\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">copped an 86-run flogging<\/a> at the hands of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nine.com.au\/topic\/bangladesh-cricket-25a1\" class=\"sc-ezrozd dxCwVA\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bangladesh<\/a> in the first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nine.com.au\/person\/one-day-international-cricket-jeh\" class=\"sc-ezrozd dxCwVA\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">one-day match<\/a> in Dhaka on Tuesday evening (AEST).<\/p>\n<p>Chasing 285 for victory, fast bowler Nahid Rana ripped through the Aussie middle order to claim figures of 4-41 from his 10 overs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/b9b672203aa995521a0b5b82efdc6fb8a83bc5a5.jpeg\"  width=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"_0b53bae146db0b62 _7475dd3391ee1518\" style=\"--text-color:var(--color-text-secondary)\">Bangladeshi Nahid Rana lead his side to a big win over Australia in the first one-dayer.\u00a0AP Photo\/Mosaraf Hossain<\/p>\n<p>After a short delay for a rain shower, the Aussie chase got off to the worst possible start when Matt Short was bowled first ball. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the third innings in a row the Aussies have lost a wicket inside the first two balls, and two have been Short. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nine.com.au\/person\/marnus-labuschagne-260i\" class=\"sc-ezrozd dxCwVA\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marnus Labuschagne<\/a> was also back in the sheds early after he was trapped in front seven balls later.<\/p>\n<p>Skipper <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nine.com.au\/person\/josh-inglis-25ua\" class=\"sc-ezrozd dxCwVA\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Josh Inglis<\/a> and opener Cooper Connolly briefly looked like they\u2019d steadied the ship, before Inglis got stuck on the crease and nicked through to \u2019keeper Litton Kumer to be Rana\u2019s first wicket.<\/p>\n<p>In his celebration, Rana gave Inglis a send off, and he turned around and gave him a spray back before being ushered away by Bangladeshi fielders.<\/p>\n<p>Rana, who regularly broke the 150km\/h barrier, would go on to take the wickets of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nine.com.au\/person\/alex-carey-2575\" class=\"sc-ezrozd dxCwVA\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Carey<\/a>, debutant Liam Scott and Xavier Bartlett.<\/p>\n<p>Connolly (35 from 50), Carey (47 from 62) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nine.com.au\/person\/cameron-green-25dd\" class=\"sc-ezrozd dxCwVA\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cameron Green<\/a> (52) were the only Aussie batters to offer any real resistance. Inglis (19) was the only other to reach double figures. <\/p>\n<p>The Aussies had slumped to 9-191 still needing 94 from 46 balls when lightning in the area stopped play. Umpires eventually declared the match, and Bangladesh the victors by a slightly-reduced margin of 86 runs. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Aussies never had the hosts under any real scoreboard pressure as the hosts made 8-284 from their 50 overs. Three Tigers batters made half-centuries, including an unbeaten 86 for Mosaddek Hossain.<\/p>\n<p>Nathan Ellis was head and shoulders the best of the Aussie bowlers with 3-38 from his 10 overs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nine.com.au\/person\/matt-renshaw-261a\" class=\"sc-ezrozd dxCwVA\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew Renshaw<\/a> (2-35) and debutant Liam Scott (2-57) also chipped in.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/182bd2653b8dd39154676a994d00d95ff063b9ffdd4fd7b42d21e9b11a24da54.jpeg\"  width=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"_0b53bae146db0b62 _7475dd3391ee1518\" style=\"--text-color:var(--color-text-secondary)\">Josh Inglis and Nahid Rana exchanged words after the former&#8217;s dismissal.\u00a0Fox Sports<\/p>\n<p>But the Aussies were poor in the field with numerous dropped catches and several misfields \u2013 a point touched on by Inglis after the match.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA disappointing total on our part and obviously we dropped four or five catches,\u201d the stand-in Aussie skipper said during the presentation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf it was somewhere around 230 to 240, I thought it was very chaseable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLosing two wickets really early doesn\u2019t help and then we had guys get in throughout the innings, but no one really went on and put on a big score, and we didn\u2019t have a really big partnership to get us close.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The second match of the three-game series is on Thursday, and the third on Sunday.
