{"id":72664,"date":"2025-08-16T12:11:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-16T12:11:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/72664\/"},"modified":"2025-08-16T12:11:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-16T12:11:09","slug":"diamondbacks-offense-silent-over-final-3-innings-vs-rockies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/72664\/","title":{"rendered":"Diamondbacks offense silent over final 3 innings vs. Rockies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DENVER (AP) \u2014 Hunter Goodman homered, Victor Vodnik struck out two in the ninth inning and the Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-3 on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>Goodman hit his <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Rockies\/status\/1956521580139614615\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">25th homer<\/a> \u2014 a solo shot off Brandon Pfaadt (12-8) \u2014 in the first to put the Rockies in front. Pfaadt gave up four runs and eight hits in six innings.<\/p>\n<p>Tanner Gordon (3-5) allowed three runs on five hits in five innings for the victory. He gave up 10 runs on 12 hits in 4 2\/3 innings of a 13-6 loss to Pfaadt and the Diamondbacks in Phoenix his last time out.<\/p>\n<p>Jimmy Herget fanned four in two innings, and Juan Mejia struck out two in the eighth to set up Vodnik\u2019s fifth save.<\/p>\n<p>Tyler Freeman tripled for Colorado leading off the fifth and scored on Jordan Beck\u2019s two-out double.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/arizonasports.com\/mlb\/arizona-diamondbacks\/ketel-marte-7\/3592984\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Ketel Marte<\/a> singled leading off the Arizona sixth and Corbin Carroll followed with a four-pitch walk to end Gordon\u2019s day.
