The 2026 FIFA World Cup<\/a> is finally here, and that can only mean one thing. No, not football<\/a> \u2013 don\u2019t be ridiculous. Messi<\/a>, Modri\u0107 or Mbapp\u00e9? Please. <\/p>\n

We\u2019re talking about fashion<\/a>. The real game afoot, as the world\u2019s finest assemble for battle, is one of aesthetics – not athleticism: Which team has the most stylish kit<\/a>?<\/p>\n

Players from 48 countries will face off during the tournament in Canada, Mexico and the United States, decked out in distinctive kits \u2013 home, away and often a third alternate set.<\/p>\n

These aren\u2019t your average jerseys. Think: bold colours, artistic prints and eye-catching motifs designed by activewear giants like Nike, Adidas and Puma. Even if they don\u2019t get near the goalposts, your faves will at least be kicking style goals. <\/p>\n

More than 100 kits will be worn during the World Cup, but we\u2019ve done the hard yards (i.e. polled our colleagues, who have varying levels of football knowledge and\/or interest) to come up with a top 10. <\/p>\n

Without further ado, and in no particular order… <\/p>\n

Scotland (away)<\/p>\n

\u201cI am biased, of course, but the Scotland away kit is truly a work of act,\u201d declares nine.com.au\u2019s editor (and proud Scot) Marc.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome call it pink, some scarlet red. Others think it is the colour of our national drink, Irn Bru. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt matters not, it is easily the standout kit of the World Cup, complete with Adidas trefoil.<\/p>\n

\u201cScotland have in fact been wearing pink in some form for around 150 years, ever since we thrashed England 6-1 back in the 1880s. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis kit is very cool for its subtle tiger stripes \u2013 like, ok sporty animal print chic,\u201d shopping reporter Siena says.<\/p>\n

South Korea is already the World Cup victor in ours eyes. Well… its kits are, at least.\u00a0Nike<\/p>\n

(Siena also gave Nigeria \u2013 who didn\u2019t qualify \u2013 a shoutout for the flame detailing on its away jersey: \u201cIt\u2019s the perfect blend of sport and my fave fashion\/beauty trends coming into play, as I\u2019m a huge fan of flame nail art, and whenever I get my nails done I\u2019ll often get coloured flame tips.\u201c)<\/p>\n

South Korea (away)<\/p>\n

Yes, South Korea has scored a double-header in our ranking.<\/p>\n

News reporter Joseph declares the away kit \u201cby far the cleanest jersey of the entire tournament\u201d.<\/p>\n

The metallic crest reflects the original shade of the monument.<\/p>\n

Football kit or beachside holiday suitcase staple? Why not both?\u00a0Puma<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s something so nostalgically-kitsch about Portugal\u2019s away kit. The aqua waves are reminiscent of prints exclusive to Dad-on-holiday shirts,\u201d says senior digital and social designer Polly.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether that translates to a World Cup stage, I\u2019m not sure, but the best kits do have that transporting quality \u2013 I\u2019m suddenly on a beach in Lagos!\u201d<\/p>\n

Who doesn’t love a cheetah?\u00a0Majid<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe controversial, but I like Iran\u2019s home shirt because of the cheetah face. Cats make everything better,\u201d entertainment reporter Chelsea says.<\/p>\n
