Victor Wembanyama was in disbelief after the San Antonio Spurs blew a 29-point lead in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, losing 107-106 against the New York Knicks.<\/p>\n
The Spurs scored just 30 points in the second half, and Wemby discussed that meltdown with reporters after the game:<\/p>\n
He also said the Spurs had two options\u2014give up or get stronger:<\/p>\n
And San Antonio’s superstar said he would be a bit more careful going forward, since one more flagrant foul would lead to a suspension, but it probably wouldn’t dramatically affect his play style.<\/p>\n
Despite the Spurs playing horribly in the second half, they still had a realistic chance to escape with a win in the final moments. With the Spurs up one and 16 seconds remaining, Jalen Brunson missed a potential go-ahead field goal and De’Aaron Fox raced down the other end after pulling in the rebound.<\/p>\n
But instead of pulling the ball back and forcing the Knicks to foul, giving him a chance to shoot free throws, he went for a quick layup and was blocked by OG Anunoby. <\/p>\n
Brunson than missed a three-pointer on the other end but Anunoby came up huge again, tipping in the rebound for what was ultimately the game-winning basket with just 1.8 seconds remaining.<\/p>\n

This series very easily could be 3-1 in favor of the Spurs, but they simply haven’t been as good in the clutch as the Knicks.
