Pitcher and Iron in Subiaco, located on Railway Road, has become a hotspot for dessert lovers since it first opened to the public in 2018.<\/p>\n
The restaurant describes their menu as \u201ccombining the best of Belgium with a twist\u201d, with their extensive range of sweet and savoury waffles attracting wide praise from locals.<\/p>\n
The acclaimed eatery shocked its loyal patrons on Wednesday when they shared their plans to close the Subiaco store.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter an unforgettable journey, the time has come for us to say goodbye,\u201d a statement to the restaurant\u2019s 6,700 followers began.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo every customer who walked through our doors, shared a laugh, celebrated milestones, brought friends, enjoyed a late-night dessert, or simply made us part of your day \u2014 thank you.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou turned a small waffle house into a place filled with memories, conversations and connections. We are endlessly grateful for the support you\u2019ve shown us over the years.\u201d<\/p>\n
Head chef Edwin Stevanus told PerthNow the decision to close the popular eatery had left the team saddened.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re sad about closing Pitcher & Iron after an unforgettable journey, but we\u2019re incredibly grateful to the community, our customers, and the food bloggers who supported us along the way,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019d love to welcome everyone back one last time for their favourite waffle, coffee and a final memory with us before we close.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Stevanus explained there were a number of factors that contributed to the decision.<\/p>\n
\u201cLike many small hospitality businesses, we\u2019ve been under pressure from rising operating costs, supply chain challenges, and a difficult trading envirionment,\u201d he told PerthNow.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter a lot of thought, we felt it was the right time to close this chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Subiaco store\u2019s post quickly traction among the western suburbs community, with regulars expressing their shock over the sudden news.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou have been our favourite spot in Perth and we travel all the way from Bunbury \u2014 thank you for all the wonderful memories,\u201d one diner shared.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe best waffles in all of Perth, thank you for all the wonderful memories,\u201d another wrote.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo sad to see you close,\u201d a third patron added.<\/p>\n
Pitcher and Iron will be serving its final waffles before they close their doors for good on June 21.<\/p>\n
The Subiaco dessert hub is just the latest in a string of restaurants across Perth that have closed in recent months.<\/p>\n
Maylands cocktail bar Volare Bar<\/a> announced on Wednesday they would be shutting their doors on Saturday.<\/p>\n
