Viewers have had plenty of opinions about Sydney Sweeney<\/a>\u2019s OnlyFans<\/a> storyline in Euphoria season three<\/a> \u2013 and now the star has shared her own thoughts behind the controversial plot.<\/p>\n

During the final season of the series, Sweeney\u2019s character Cassie gains notoriety as a content creator on the often X-rated subscription site<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sweeney’s season three storyline has grabbed many headlines.\u00a0Jordan Strauss\/Invision\/AP<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom the very beginning, you can see that Cassie has this need to be loved,\u201d she told Vanity Fair<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has a need to be validated by other people. She doesn\u2019t know how to love herself unless someone else loves her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sweeney was asked about how she discussed Cassie\u2019s racy scenes with show creator Sam Levinson.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe asked me how I felt about it, and I told him, \u2018Look, I\u2019m playing a character.\u2019 Do I agree with all of Cassie\u2019s decisions? Would I, personally, make these choices? No, of course not. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut I\u2019m an actor and that\u2019s my job, and this is Cassie\u2019s life and to be able to do her justice and play her how she\u2019s to be played is to bring Sam\u2019s vision to life and to play Cassie in the most vulnerable and insane way possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

During a recent interview with The New York Times\u2032 Popcast<\/a> podcast, Levinson said he had considered doing Cassie\u2019s storyline without nudity but Sweeney convinced him otherwise.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, it\u2019s funny, when I first wrote it, I was like, maybe we shoot all of this and we don\u2019t have any nudity, maybe there\u2019s ways to shoot around certain things?\u201d Levinson said. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd she looked at me and she was like, \u2018Are you kidding? I\u2019m playing an OnlyFans model. You\u2019re telling me you\u2019re going to like, skirt around it?\u2019 And I was like, yeah, OK, that\u2019s a fair point.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her profile, Sweeney also opened up about being the subject of internet discourse<\/a>, with everything from her love life<\/a> and relationship with Scooter Braun<\/a> to politics scrutinised.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt this point, I think it would be so tiring having to correct everything and everyone,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

To her, all that mattered was that her \u201cinnermost circle\u201d knew the real her.<\/p>\n
