{"id":729388,"date":"2026-06-11T10:00:13","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T10:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/729388\/"},"modified":"2026-06-11T10:00:13","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T10:00:13","slug":"screen-reactions-go-live-in-android-17-qpr1-beta-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/729388\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Screen Reactions&#8217; go live in Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<img width=\"1600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Screen-reactions.jpg\" class=\"skip-lazy wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2026\/05\/12\/android-17-takes-effort-out-of-reaction-videos\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">After being showcased and teased<\/a> at the Android Show <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/products-and-platforms\/platforms\/android\/android-17-creator-features\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">just a few weeks ago<\/a>, \u201cScreen Reactions\u201d are now live in the latest <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2026\/06\/10\/android-17-qpr1-beta-4-pixel\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 release<\/a> for eligible Pixel phones.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the rollout of the latest Android 17 preview, we now have an idea of how Screen Reactions green screen-like effect will work with Pixel devices. Baked into the system screen recorder, there is a new \u201cShow selfie camera\u201d option that will appear alongside other controls for the built-in video option.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This method negates the outside edit or external app process that was often needed before on Pixel phones to get these green screen video clips. Instead, you can do it all locally from a system app and have it ready to upload or share instantly, no further editing or tweaking required.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You are only able to use Screen Reactions when recording your entire screen. The option is unavailable when using the \u201cSingle app\u201d recording option. As soon as you toggle the option, you\u2019ll get a preview right away before recording, allowing you to frame, get set up, and prepare.<\/p>\n<p>\tAdvertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A paint swatch tool is also present, so you can add a colored background to your tiny selfie video. This helps if you want to stand out from the screen recording in question. Sadly, there are only six color variants to choose from right now, including black, purple, red, blue, green, and orange. We\u2019re hoping that this will get expanded or allow for a custom color at some point in the future.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"1024\" width=\"456\" data-id=\"717873\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Screen-Reactions-in-Android-17-QPR1-Beta-4-v2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-717873\"  \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"1024\" width=\"456\" data-id=\"717874\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Screen-Reactions-in-Android-17-QPR1-Beta-4-v3.png\" alt=\"screen reactions\" class=\"wp-image-717874\"  \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"1024\" width=\"456\" data-id=\"717875\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Screen-Reactions-in-Android-17-QPR1-Beta-4-v4.png\" alt=\"screen reactions\" class=\"wp-image-717875\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This will instantly toggle local microphone recording, but you can toggle this off if you wish, as it doesn\u2019t appear to be necessary for Screen Reactions to work.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Subject isolation is very good, with crisp cutouts that works well with your face, shoulders, and even your hands and other objects.
