On Thursday afternoon, the Chicago Cubs<\/a> will finish their series with the Colorado Rockies<\/a> in Denver.<\/p>\n

The Cubs have lost each of the first two games in the series, so they will look to avoid getting swept.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the week, the Cubs announced the news that they have released Jeff Brigham from their organization.<\/p>\n

Brigham did not appear in a game for the Cubs.<\/p>\n

MLB.com wrote<\/a> (on June 9): \u201cIowa Cubs released RHP Jeff Brigham.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brigham was picked in the 4th round of the 2014 MLB<\/a> Draft.<\/p>\n

He played the first four years of his career with the Miami Marlins<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In that span, Brigham went 3-7 with a 4.52 ERA in 53 games.<\/p>\n

Following Miami, the 34-year-old had stops with the New York Mets<\/a> and Arizona Diamondbacks.<\/p>\n

Over 94 career games, Brigham has gone 4-10 with a 4.85 ERA.<\/p>\n

He had signed with the Cubs on a Minor League deal over the offseason.<\/p>\n

Patrick Mooney of The Athletic had written<\/a> on March 21: \u201cIn their latest round of roster cuts, the Cubs sent infielders Jefferson Rojas and B.J. Murray and right-handed pitcher Jeff Brigham to minor-league camp. On the last weekend of spring training, the club still has 41 players in major-league camp.\u201d<\/p>\n

It will be interesting to see if another team takes a chance on Brigham before the end of the 2026 season.<\/p>\n
