If Milan Design Week<\/a> is design\u2019s undisputed main event, then Copenhagen\u2019s 3daysofdesign has become its younger, more agile and increasingly formidable Nordic counterpart. Returning from 10\u201312 June 2026, the festival once again transforms the Danish capital into a sprawling showcase of contemporary design<\/a>, heralding the start of summer under the banner of \u2018Make This Moment Matter\u2019.<\/p>\n

This year, roughly 400 global brands will participate in a programme that spans hundreds of exhibitions, installations, talks, workshops, fairs, open studios and symposium events. The 13th edition in the festival\u2019s steadily expanding history, it adopts a theme that eschews retrospective reflection and speculative forecasting in favour of something more immediate: the value of the present and the role of purposeful design within it. <\/p>\n

For visitors and locals alike, 3daysofdesign offers the opportunity to engage with stellar new furniture and d\u00e9cor launches against Copenhagen\u2019s characteristically picturesque streets and waterfronts. A city long associated with craftsmanship, natural materials and wellbeing, the Scandinavian city provides an apt setting for a fanciful festival that has, since its debut in 2013, grown from a local initiative into one of the design industry\u2019s most influential platforms for trend-setting, talent-spotting and community building.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s worth the trip to 3daysofdesign in 2026<\/p>\n

\nGeorg Jensen gets playful\n<\/p>\n

\u2018At Play\u2019 is Georg Jensen\u2019s contribution to 3daysofdesign, overseen by creative director Paula Gerbase, whose tenure since 2024 has brought a renewed focus to the heritage silver maker. The project chronicles an affinity for old-school games \u2013 namely ring toss and yo-yo sets reimagined in walnut and sterling silver \u2013 drawing on the idea of summer play while remaining true to the house\u2019s commitment to enduring materials and craftsmanship. <\/p>\n

Also, the addition is an homage to the formative influence of founder Georg Jensen, who grew up north of Copenhagen in a village of craftspeople and spent his days in surrounding woodlands, an early landscape of what Gerbase calls \u201cplayfulness and exploration\u201d. <\/p>\n

\nTechnogym host Pilates classes\n<\/p>\n

Technogym harkens to the wellness juggernaut with Technogym Reform at the Postbyen pop-up during 3daysofdesign. The classes feature the brand\u2019s award-winning reformer, with guided sessions led by expert instructors.<\/p>\n

\nVermland get creative with the kitchen system\n<\/p>\n

Copenhagen-based studio Vermland presents an installation for 3daysofdesign 2026, constructed using its handcrafted solid oak kitchen frames. The outdoor structure foregrounds the studio\u2019s modular kitchen system, with emphasis on the quality and tactility of solid oak as both structural and expressive element.<\/p>\n

\nFatboy floats an exhibition on the harbour\n<\/p>\n

Fatboy stages a floating exhibition for imposing event, presenting its latest selection aboard a docked vessel in Copenhagen\u2019s harbour. Spanning indoor and outdoor furniture, lighting and accessories, the installation is kept buoy by signature designs in a palette that oscillates between vivid and muted tones. <\/p>\n

Running alongside the exhibition, illustrator Martyna Brechelk will be on site daily from 12:00pm to 4:00pm, offering visitors hand-drawn sketches on Fatboy bags.<\/p>\n

\nAesop gets experimental with artist Jessie French\n<\/p>\n

Aesop presents Enduring Forms, a collaboration with artist Jessie French of materials studio OTHER MATTER, centred on experimental approaches to sustainable design. French debuts a flexible, leather-like material derived from reprocessed algae-based bioplastics originally used in earlier Aesop installations. <\/p>\n

The project is activated across two Copenhagen stores: at Nyhavn, window decals shaped as enlarged product silhouettes spotlight the Parsley Seed range, while at Kronprinsensgade visitors can take home detachable hand-balm-tube-shaped elements.<\/p>\n

\nBankston and For Scale get hands-on\n<\/p>\n

Prodigious hardware brand Bankston Architectural extend their collaboration with For Scale with How to Handle \u2013 an exhibition focused on the door handle as object and interface. The presentation includes a film by Matthew Donaldson, with visual direction and graphics by Currie Ritchie, Caleb Engstrom and Lowrie, and considers the practical and symbolic dimensions of door hardware. The project follows the duo\u2019s appearance at NYCxDesign 2026 with Manifesto to Touch. <\/p>\n

There will also be a cocktail reception to commemorate the festival that will take place on 11 June, 2026. <\/p>\n

\nCassina stages a six-room interior exhibition\n<\/p>\n

Cassina responds to this year\u2019s theme with a presentation that reflects its ongoing balance between heritage preservation and forward-looking innovation. Installed within the Frederiksgade 1 design house in Copenhagen, the showcase occupies six articulated rooms, lacquered in muted tones and filled with an eclectic mix of furniture and fixtures. Iconic archival pieces are presented alongside selections from the 2026 Cassina collection, with particular focus on new Karakter x Cassina collaborations.<\/p>\n

\nAsko with Draga & Aurel turns appliances into art\n<\/p>\n

Swedish appliance brand Asko<\/a> presents Art, Inside Out in collaboration with Lake Como-based design duo Draga & Aurel, exploring the appliance as a canvas for artistic expression. The exhibition pairs Asko\u2019s engineering precision with Draga & Aurel\u2019s experimental approach, extending ideas developed in the duo\u2019s previous collections. <\/p>\n

Incorporating resin into domestic appliances, the presentation considers shifting perceptions of surface and form, reframing functional objects as art.<\/p>\n

\nFront grows tiles with bacteria\n<\/p>\n

Front presents its Mimmik Tile, a collaboration with Biomason exploring bio-based approaches to construction materials. Ultimately, the tile is described as being grown with the aid of bacteria, which bind carbon and calcium into a durable, marble-like surface inspired by coral structures. Positioned as an alternative to cement, the material is promoted for its potential to reduce emissions by at least 60 per cent, with applications aimed at architects, developers and contractors.<\/p>\n

\nRYE turns a parking garage into a place for rest\n<\/p>\n

RYE challenges the idea that rest is purely a functional act. Staged within a raw parking garage, the presentation alchemises an industrial setting into an unexpected landscape of respite within the city. Handcrafted in Jutland from natural materials, each bed carries a sense of its place of origin, with the exhibition translating the atmosphere of production through material, imagery and sensory cues. <\/p>\n

\nA striking sound installation\n<\/p>\n

Rockfon presents Hear & Now, an exhibition that examines sound as a foundational element of experience, present in both ordinary and formative moments. The installation builds on a modular steel grid system originally created with Spacon & X for the 2025 edition of the festival, reworked into a new configuration. Designed for reuse from the outset, the structure reflects a broader interest in flexible and reconfigurable interiors.<\/p>\n

\nDusty Deco spans two Copenhagen interiors\n<\/p>\n

Dusty Deco stages its work across two contrasting settings in Copenhagen. At Store Regnegade 2, in partnership with Nuvole, the brand presents a curated living room environment where furniture, rugs, lighting and objects are paired with art and selected collectible works. The latter is located in Strandgade 36 in historic Christianshavn, is a listed 18th-century building reimagined as a complete apartment, bringing together new and existing pieces in a layered presentation of the brand\u2019s aesthetic language.<\/p>\n
