<\/p>\nMatty Johns has endured a chaotic morning here in Washington DC after almost his entire film crew was barred from entering The White House grounds for an exclusive tour of the UFC Freedom 250 venue.<\/p>\n
Yet in typical Johns\u2019 style, The Fox League host has rallied to not only hold court with The New York Times, or bestselling author Jon Ronson, but pose up on the South Lawn, conduct live crosses, and even introduce Japanese television to his newest alter ego \u2013 battling MMA fighter, Steve McGregor.<\/p>\n
\u201cWho just happens to be the brother of Conor McGregor,\u201d Johns laughs.<\/p>\n

UFC FREEDOM 250 | MONDAY 15 JUNE 10AM AEST | UFC Freedom 250 delivers a landmark night of fights from the White House, with Topuria vs Gaethje leading a stacked card celebrating America\u2019s 250th anniversary | Order Now with Main Event on Kayo Sports.<\/a><\/p>\n Only two days after going viral for a hilarious back and forth with no less than UFC boss Dana White<\/a> \u2013 \u201cwe\u2019ve come a long way, don\u2019t f*** this up\u201d \u2013 Johns has once again found himself enveloped by chaos here in the nation\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n While still gaining entry to The White House grounds himself, the popular Australian TV host was forced to attempt live crosses on his iPhone \u2013 and via Facetime \u2013 after three members of his crew, including the chief cameraman and audio specialist, were all denied entry.<\/p>\n Elsewhere, the popular Newcastle premiership winner also became something of a celebrity himself while inspecting the $60 million UFC White House venue, with a couple of visiting international media inadvertently mistaking him for a fighter.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd while I couldn\u2019t lie to the New York Times,\u201d Johns explains later over a beer, \u201cthere was one fella there from Japanese TV asking \u2026 so why not have a little fun, right?\u201d<\/p>\n Which is how the man famed for his alter ego, Reg Reagan, wound up talking down the barrel as Steve McGregor, brother to Irish megastar Conor, and now looking for one last crack at the big time himself. <\/p>\n Which brought far more laughs than a couple of hours earlier.<\/p>\n When around five o\u2019clock in the morning, Johns and his crew arrived at the UFC fighter hotel for an exclusive White House venue tour with other handpicked journalists from around the world.<\/a><\/p>\n While Johns was allowed onto a bus transporting said group for an early morning look at the most uniquely placed Octagon ever, a large chunk of his team were denied.<\/p>\n In fact, and despite claiming all correct paperwork was complete, a tight UFC schedule meant Johns would depart without three of his five crew \u2013 including The Late Show with Matty Johns producer, Leon Mitchell.<\/p>\n ‘I’m allowing Volk to hurt me’ | 00:32<\/p>\n Mitchell, of course, is already well known to NRL fans after almost being decapitated last year in a skit which involved him being tackled by Manly Sea Eagles star Haumole Olakau\u2019atu.<\/a><\/p>\n Now wonderfully, Johns says, he can add US Secret Service to the list of folk who\u2019ve thwacked him.<\/p>\n Recounting the ordeal with Fox Sports Australia on Thursday evening, the Fox Sports host admitted to having initially had no idea what was going on.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m walking onto the bus and, suddenly, I realise I\u2019m without three of the boys,\u201d Johns recounted. \u201cI turn around and there\u2019s no cameraman, no sound guy \u2026 and no Leon.<\/p>\n \u201cAlthough honestly, I shouldn\u2019t be surprised.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve always been a little suspicious about what Leon gets up to in his spare time.
