{"id":730909,"date":"2026-06-12T02:26:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T02:26:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/730909\/"},"modified":"2026-06-12T02:26:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T02:26:11","slug":"new-nfl-rumors-on-team-mulling-wr-addition-amid-keenan-allen-deebo-samuel-links","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/730909\/","title":{"rendered":"New NFL Rumors on Team &#8216;Mulling&#8217; WR Addition amid Keenan Allen, Deebo Samuel Links"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly considering adding more help at wide receiver for the 2026 NFL season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">According to ESPN&#8217;s <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/48950554\/2026-nfl-minicamp-live-updates-teams-mandatory-camps-news-notes-depth-charts\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Stephen Holder<\/a>, the Colts are &#8220;still mulling&#8221; a potential move at receiver with options including veterans Keenan Allen and Deebo Samuel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">After Indianapolis <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.colts.com\/news\/colts-acquire-2026-sixth-round-pick-in-trade-with-pittsburgh-steelers-for-wide-receiver-michael-pittman-jr-2026-seventh-round-pick\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">traded<\/a> Michael Pittman Jr. to the Pittsburgh Steelers in March, Alec Pierce and Josh Downs are expected to serve as the team&#8217;s top two wide receivers next season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The Colts&#8217; No. 3 receiver is still uncertain, as special teams ace Ashton Dulin and free-agent addition Nick Westbrook-Ikhine are both candidates to earn the role.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Head coach Shane Steichen revealed what he&#8217;s searching for from the No. 3 receiving spot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">&#8220;The biggest thing is consistency,&#8221; Steichen said, per Holder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">If Indianapolis wants to bring in an experienced option to compete for the job, Allen is an intriguing option.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">While the six-time Pro Bowler is now 34 years old, he still contributed to the Los Angeles Chargers&#8217; offense in 2025. Allen recorded 81 catches for 777 yards and four touchdowns last season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">As for Samuel, he appeared in 16 games with the Washington Commanders during his 2025 campaign. He hauled in 72 receptions for 727 yards and five touchdowns while catching passes from three different starting quarterbacks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The Colts will enter the 2026 season looking to end a five-year playoff drought.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly considering adding more help at wide receiver for the 2026 NFL season.
