The rumours are true. The Tullamarines are performing classic Fleetwood Mac track ‘The Chain’ live for Like A Version.<\/p>\n
It’s the first time that the Kaurna\/Adelaide foursome have covered a song for the program.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Initially, we were thinking, we couldn’t do [‘The Chain’] justice,” frontman Ben Waltho remembers of brainstorming potential versions.<\/p>\n
“But we just went, we\u2019ll give it a go, see what happens.”<\/p>\n
The Tullamarines haven’t gone too far off the chain, adhering closely to the blueprint that Fleetwood Mac formulated way back in 1977.<\/p>\n
“I think the thing is for me, make it more us,” guitarist Lucinda Machin says of the minor instrumental tweaks made to the original.<\/p>\n
“So if people haven\u2019t listened to us before, it\u2019s kind of like what style The Tullies are. If it\u2019s too serious and we botch it up…” she laughs, trailing off.<\/p>\n
Thankfully, no one would accuse the band of doing any such thing.
