\n\tA judge has ordered a security guard and his lawyer to pay Lil Wayne<\/a> $29,225, plus the Grammy-winning musician\u2019s legal fees, after their lawsuit accusing the \u201cLollipop\u201d rapper of striking the man while holding a gun<\/a> was thrown out.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to a judgment signed Wednesday and obtained by Rolling Stone, plaintiff Christian Carlos and his lawyer are jointly liable for the monetary sanctions and legal costs after the court ruled in April that they repeatedly disobeyed orders. The judge subsequently terminated the lawsuit and scrapped a trial set for August.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe court is granting terminating sanctions because plaintiff willfully refused to comply with three discovery orders over nearly ten months, made affirmative misrepresentations to the court about compliance, and has still provided no responses as of April 21, 2026,\u201d the judge said in a recent ruling. Carlos\u2019s lawyer did not respond to Rolling Stone\u2018s request for comment on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPlaintiff filed this lawsuit seeking money from Mr. Carter for plaintiff\u2019s alleged physical and emotional injuries. Mr. Carter has denied these allegations from the start and vigorously defended against them,\u201d Ashlee Difuntorum, one of Carter\u2019s lawyers, tells Rolling Stone.<\/p>\n

\n\tDifuntorum says Carlos failed to provide \u201cbasic information and documents relating to the alleged incident and injuries\u201d and was sanctioned for \u201cabuse of the discovery process.\u201d She says Carter is still calculating the legal costs he plans to seek for defending the lawsuit. \u201cWe\u2019re pleased with the outcome and grateful the court held plaintiff accountable for his conduct,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

\n\tCarlos filed his lawsuit in December 2023. The security staffer claimed the musician, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., pointed a semiautomatic rifle at him \u201cas a threat\u201d and punched him in the ear with a fist during an incident at the rapper\u2019s residence in Hidden Hills, California.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPlaintiff suffered severe emotional distress, requiring him to seek mental health treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) stemming directly from this incident,\u201d the lawsuit said. Carlos claimed he racked up medical expenses from the alleged assault and battery and lost both wages and earning capacity.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Los Angeles County Sheriff\u2019s Department previously told Rolling Stone<\/a> it was investigating a \u201cverbal altercation\u201d involving a security staffer and an adult male who allegedly \u201cbrandished a firearm\u201d on Dec. 1, 2021 at the Hidden Hills address. The department didn\u2019t name Carter specifically, but it issued the statement in response to a request naming the rapper.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnonymous law enforcement sources reportedly told TMZ<\/a> that the dispute involved Carter accusing the security guard of taking photos and leaking them to the media.
