{"id":731465,"date":"2026-06-12T08:28:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T08:28:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/731465\/"},"modified":"2026-06-12T08:28:14","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T08:28:14","slug":"supercars-walkinshaw-twg-racing-to-stay-in-clayton-south-headquarters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/731465\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars: Walkinshaw TWG Racing to stay in Clayton South headquarters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CLAYTON South will remain the home of Walkinshaw TWG Racing after all, at least for the short term.<\/p>\n<p>It emerged last year that the Supercars team which fields <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-330-Chaz-Mostert\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chaz Mostert<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-2748-Ryan-Wood\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ryan Wood<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/wau-closing-in-on-move-from-clayton-headquarters\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was set to move into a brand-new, all-encompassing Walkinshaw Group facility in Dandenong South worth $100 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That shift was initially touted to take place in April 2026, only for that timeframe to come and go.<\/p>\n<p>Now, it\u2019s understood that the race team\u2019s relocation is on hold indefinitely.<\/p>\n<p>It is, after all, less than three years removed from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/wau-completes-move-out-of-historic-hq\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">finalising its move into the current Nursery Avenue premises<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/holden-racing-team-the-cars-1989-2016-second-edition-book?utm_source=website&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=buy-button&amp;utm_content=buy-button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/hrt-the-cars-2-ed-1_1024x1024.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That had represented an upgrade from its historic ex-Holden Racing Team headquarters \u2013 just around the corner on Centre Road \u2013 where it had been based since the mid-1990s.<\/p>\n<p>The impressive Nursery Avenue site is extra special having been home to the team\u2019s drought-breaking championship success last year as well as its development of the all-new Gen3 GR Supra and Toyota V8 engine.<\/p>\n<p>No timeframe has been outlined for when the squad will join the rest of the Walkinshaw Group in Dandenong South.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"CLAYTON South will remain the home of Walkinshaw TWG Racing after all, at least for the short term.&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":731466,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[572],"tags":[64,63,806,805,803,804,85],"class_list":["post-731465","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-motosport","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-motor","tag-motor-sports","tag-motosport","tag-motosports","tag-sports"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/731465","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=731465"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/731465\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/731466"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=731465"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=731465"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=731465"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
