Most of the world has only seen one page of Matt Reeves\u2019 The Batman Part II script\u2014the first one, since the director and co-writer shared a proof-of-life photo on social media<\/a> last year. But that hasn\u2019t stopped all kinds of speculation focused particularly on who any new cast additions might be playing, as a way to determine what Robert Pattinson\u2019s Batman will be getting up to in his second outing.<\/p>\n

Last month, Reeves again took to social media<\/a> for an update, this time to confirm the faces<\/a> we\u2019ll be seeing in the sequel. That includes the returning Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Gil Perez-Abraham, and Jayme Lawson, though so far nothing regarding Barry Keoghan.<\/p>\n

The new additions are Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry, and Sebastian Koch. Reeves didn\u2019t share<\/a> details for any of the new characters, so naturally that leaves room for rumors to thrive.<\/p>\n

A new report from the InSneider<\/a> says that Stan may not be playing Two-Face\/Harvey Dent, as many had previously assumed<\/a>. Instead, the outlet\u2019s Jeff Sneider writes, Stan is believed to be portraying Victor Zsasz, \u201ca serial killer \u2026 who sets out to \u2018free\u2019 people who no longer value their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Sneider added, that doesn\u2019t mean Harvey Dent won\u2019t be part of the story; according to his sources, Henry has been cast as the Gotham City district attorney who breaks bad. As Sneider writes, \u201cHe won\u2019t be the first Black actor to play Dent in live-action, as\u00a0Billy Dee Williams\u00a0played the character in\u00a0Tim Burton\u2019s 1989 movie\u00a0Batman.\u201d<\/p>\n

So far there\u2019s no word on who Dance or Johansson might be playing, but as The Batman Part II heads into production, we can expect to learn more\u2014or at least be privy to more rumors as that October 1, 2027, release date creeps closer. io9 has reached out to Warner Bros. for comment and will update this post if we hear back.<\/p>\n
