{"id":732521,"date":"2026-06-12T20:04:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T20:04:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/732521\/"},"modified":"2026-06-12T20:04:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T20:04:09","slug":"bertagnole-freshman-of-the-year-sheils-donegan-named-all-acc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/732521\/","title":{"rendered":"Bertagnole (Freshman Of The Year) &#038; Sheils Donegan Named All-ACC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tar Heels <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/niall-sheils-donegan\/27352\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"27352\" target=\"_blank\">Niall Sheils Donegan<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/carson-bertagnole\/27350\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"27350\" target=\"_blank\">Carson Bertagnole<\/a> were named to the 2026 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Men&#8217;s Golf Team and Bertagnole was named the ACC Freshman of the Year.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nEarlier this week, Sheils Donegan was named second-team All-America by PING (Golf Coaches Association of America) and Golfweek, while both named Bertagnole a third-team All-America.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSheils Donegan and Bertagnole are the 10th and 11th individuals to earn All-ACC under <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/coaches\/andrew-dibitetto\/4546\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4546\" target=\"_blank\">Andrew DiBitetto<\/a>, in his ninth season as Carolina&#8217;s Johnny and Tricia Thompson Men&#8217;s Golf Head Coach. They become the 19th and 20th All-ACC selections since DiBitetto became head coach in 2017.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nCarolina tied for ninth in the 2026 NCAA Championships.
