Whilst a lot will depend on other results, a loss here for the Tigers all but ends their season mathematically, whilst I don’t think the Sea Eagles will recover from another loss here. Plenty on the line for both, in what should be an intriguing battle.

Ben brings you his preview and best bets for this clash below and if you’re keen to play along, simply join Neds via this link!

Tigers vs Sea Eagles Prediction & Tips: 2025 NRL Round 24
Tigers, Consistently Inconsistent

The Tigers are fresh off their final bye of the season, and currently sit just four points outside the top 8 in 12th. Whilst the Tigers have shown some fight at the back end of this season, their performances have been marred by serious inconsistency, as they have bounced between win/loss since round 16, unable to string two good performances together in a row. We will see if the bye can be the catalyst for a second straight good performance from this team.

In round 22, the Tigers put on one of, if not the best performance from them this season, as they comfortably beat the Bulldogs, 28-14. It was a highly emotional affair, as they took on their ex-half Lachlan Galvin for the first time since he switched midway through the season, and you could tell it meant a lot to this team. Adam Doueihi was the star of the show, running for 167 metres, scoring a try, breaking the line once, and setting up another try, before he was handsomely rewarded with a shiny new contract by the Tigers. Elsewhere, the Tigers welcomed back Jahream Bula, who looked straight back into form as he ran for 115 metres from 8 runs, scoring a try and setting up another. Plenty of positives coming out of the clash then, but can this notoriously inconsistent team back it up?

Time of Tommy Trbojevic to Stand up

The Sea Eagles are another team that has struggled with consistency all year, with their best good enough to compete with the top teams in the competition, whilst their worst makes them look like a bottom four side. With three losses in a row since their big win over the Storm in round 20, the Sea Eagles are now firmly on the bubble of season being over. The biggest concern is surely their attack, with only 20 points scored in the past three games from a team that boasts some serious fire power.

Last week, the Sea Eagles headed to Canberra to take on the Raiders, and for 50 minutes it appeared as though their form may have turned, leading the ladder leaders 12-10. However, a horrible 13 minutes where they conceded three straight tries turned the tide, with the Raiders easily accounting for the Manly side, 28-12. Once again, Manly dominated statistically, however their attacking efficiency remained poor, and until this is fixed, the Sea Eagles are in for a long end to the season. Tom Trbojevic returned to his favoured fullback position, where he ran for 185 metres and scored a try, but the attack looked slow and predictable. Tolutau Koula was Manly’s best, scoring a try, breaking the line twice, setting up a try, busting 9 tackles and running for 158 metres.

Tigers vs Sea Eagles Recent History

The Sea Eagles have been dominant in this rivalry over the past few seasons, winning seven of the past eight matchups with the Tigers. The Tigers sole win coming in round 25 last season at Leichhardt Oval, beating the Sea Eagles 34-26. Even in that game, it took a dominant 30-minute performance where the Tigers scored five unanswered tries to get the win, in an otherwise ugly recent record.

The last time these teams met was only a little over a month ago, as the Sea Eagles hosted the Tigers at 4 Pines Park as 9.5-point favourites, with the total closing 48.5. After an extremely tight opening 39 minutes saw the teams all square at nil-all, a late Jason Saab try on the stroke of half-time changed the direction of the game, with the Sea Eagles running in two tries in the first seven minutes of the second half to lead 16-0. An Alex Seyfarth try in the 52nd minute threatened to put the Tigers back into the game, but two more converted trie to the Sea Eagles between the 60th and 75th minute sealed it, with Manly easily winning 28-10.

Sea Eagles’ Spluttering Attack to Help the Under

The Sea Eagles opened as 5.5-point road favourites after the round 23 games concluded, and it’s very much been one way traffic on the home team since this time. The Sea Eagles are now just 3.5-point road favourites, crossing the key number of 4, showing the market could be done with the Sea Eagles, and a little higher on the Tigers after their last up win against the Bulldogs. My fair spread here is closer to the 5.5 we saw at open, and I believe that the Sea Eagles under a try is a solid play in this spot. The Tigers haven’t managed to put two good games together for some time, and whilst the bye should have them feeling rested, I still believe there’s a letdown after their round 22 win over the Bulldogs.

Looking towards the total, and it opened 48.5 and hasn’t moved throughout the week. My fair total is well below this number, and as much as I love the Sea Eagles to cover the spread, the under is my best bet here. The Tigers have been a heavy unders team this year, playing 12 unders out of their 20 games this season. However, it’s the Sea Eagles who make this bet even more enticing, playing 14 unders in their 20 games this year, the third most of any side in the competition. Their attack has been woeful of late, and the Tigers’ defence should be just about good enough to hold them to no more than 24 points. The under is the play here.

Under 49.5 points

$1.91 (2 Units)

Tigers vs Sea Eagles Player Prop Bet: Hopoate to Punish Tigers’ Right Edge
Our Best Prop BetL Hopoate 1+ Try

Lehi Hopoate is back from injury this week and has been named to return on the left wing, with Trbojevic holding his spot at fullback.
