\u201cSilverstone is a venue with a rich endurance racing heritage, and its return reflects both the continued growth of the FIA World Endurance Championship and the increasing global appeal of our sport.\u201d<\/p>\n
It will be the first time since 2017 that the FIA World Endurance Championship has featured nine rounds.<\/p>\n
FIA World Endurance Championship CEO Frederic Lequien hailed the calendar expansion.<\/p>\n
\u201cFollowing several seasons of stability, the growing popularity of FIA WEC \u2013 amongst manufacturers, media and fans \u2013 convinced us that now is the right time to expand the schedule,\u201d said Lequien.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn Silverstone, we will be returning to a circuit with a history of generating exciting racing and attracting huge crowds, offering competitors a tremendous challenge while perfectly complementing the eight existing venues.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith nine unmissable races across five global regions, another sensational season looks assured.\u201d<\/p>\n
The championship will begin at Qatar, as has become customary since 2024.<\/p>\n
