Ricky Stuart has lamented his side\u2019s \u201cpredictable\u201d attack after the Raiders\u2019 finals hopes took another big hit with a shock 15-12 loss to the Eels.<\/a><\/p>\n

While clearly deflated, Stuart entered the post-game press conference in a more talkative mood than he following last week\u2019s loss to the Roosters.<\/p>\n

The Raiders coach was happier with his team\u2019s effort against the Eels, but conceded there\u2019s too many errors in the Green Machine\u2019s game. <\/p>\n

Not only that, but the Raiders\u2019 attack is pedestrian at best. Through 14 games, they\u2019ve scored just 261 points \u2013 an average of 18.6 per contest. <\/p>\n

Stuart put it down to different personnel. Canberra are missing Ethan Strange, Hudson Young and Simi Sasagi while this is effectively halfback Ethan Sanders\u2019 rookie year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want to take anything away from Parramatta as they did a good job holding us out, but we were pretty predictable, and that\u2019s not been disrespectful to the Eels, it\u2019s more that we\u2019re too predictable with the football and not courageous enough.\u201d Stuart said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s also different personnel but that\u2019s definitely not an excuse. You deal with what you got.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a simple (fix). It\u2019ll be simple to fix because it\u2019s not our style.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following a minor premiership season, it\u2019s been quite a slide down the table for the Raiders, with NRL legend Cooper Cronk labelling it \u201cquite the fall from grace\u201d.<\/p>\n

While last year was considered a surprise result, there was an expectation that Canberra would be a live premiership threat again.<\/p>\n

Those hopes are slipping away quickly, as the Raiders will likely need to win eight from their final 10 games. <\/p>\n

Despite the disappointment of this season, Stuart wants the young stars on his roster to keep their heads up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not ever going to be coming out and be critical I could never be critical after today\u2019s effort,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201dThere\u2019s some parts of our game we\u2019ve got to fix, but I\u2019ve got a lot of people and a lot of players in there who are very young in their footy careers. They\u2019re very fortunate. They have blokes like Joe (Tapine) and Corey (Horsburgh) and Hosko (Zac Hosking). The senior boys are doing a good job with them.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a head coach, it\u2019s my job to be careful in regards to where they\u2019re at the moment so you don\u2019t want to break anybody\u2019s spirit. <\/p>\n
