Cards release summer basketball schedule<\/p>\n

The George Rogers Clark High School boys basketball team might have surprised some when it won the 2026 state championship, just one week after the school\u2019s girls basketball team won its own.<\/p>\n
However, notice of their upcoming summer basketball schedule doesn\u2019t have to sneak up on anyone.<\/p>\n
The Cards, fresh off their recent success, opened June with a series of summer games at GRC Arena against the likes of defending 13th Region champion North Laurel, 10th Region foe Mason County, and traditionally respected 11th Region programs Lexington Catholic and Madison Southern.<\/p>\n
On June 8th, their varsity, junior varsity, and freshman squads competed at Lexington Catholic High School off Clays Mill Road in Fayette County.<\/p>\n
For those who are discouraged about not attending the games, it\u2019ll be far from the only time this summer that the team competes at such a location.<\/p>\n
Tuesday, June 9th features a pair of varsity matchups, as the Cards are set to play 11th Region challengers Lafayette and Bryan Station in late games scheduled for 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. at Bryan Station High School.<\/p>\n
Perhaps most notably, the Cards will be busy from Friday, June 12th, through Sunday, June 14th.<\/p>\n
For those uninterested in or looking for something to do in addition to attending the Beer Cheese Festival, the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches (KABC) Bluegrass Shootout is taking place at Lexington Catholic.<\/p>\n
In addition to several elite out-of-state programs, and the defending 10th Region and state champion Cards, competing at the event will be defending 16th Region champion Boyd County, 6th Region champion Butler, 12th Region champion Danville Christian Academy, 3rd Region champion Grayson County, 11th Region champion Great Crossing, 15th Region champion Johnson Central, 1st Region champion Marshall County, 13th Region champion North Laurel, 8th Region champion North Oldham, and 4th Region champion Warren Central.<\/p>\n
Along with the likes of GRC\u2019s Montez Gay, Andrew Terry, and more, highly regarded athletes Braxton Keathley of Martin County, Cole Edelen of Ballard, Pierre Rondo of North Oldham, and others can be expected to see the floor.<\/p>\n

The Cards continue a busy week of basketball games at the Madison Central Team Camp on June 15th through 16th, where freshman, junior varsity, and varsity will all be in action.<\/p>\n
Those looking for less travel and an opportunity to see the Cards right in Winchester will have another shot courtesy of the GRC Summer Games on June 17th, which features competition against Henry Clay and perennial 11th Region challenger Madison Central.<\/p>\n
