{"id":734805,"date":"2026-06-13T22:00:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-13T22:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/734805\/"},"modified":"2026-06-13T22:00:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-13T22:00:08","slug":"golden-knights-william-karlsson-out-for-game-6-carter-hart-to-play-after-missing-practice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/734805\/","title":{"rendered":"Golden Knights\u2019 William Karlsson out for Game 6; Carter Hart to play after missing practice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Needing a win to stay alive in the Stanley Cup Final, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/vegas-golden-knights\/54\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/vegas-golden-knights\/54\" target=\"_blank\">Vegas Golden Knights<\/a> will be without veteran forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/william-karlsson\/8476448\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/william-karlsson\/8476448\" target=\"_blank\">William Karlsson<\/a> for Sunday\u2019s must-win Game 6 against the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/carolina-hurricanes\/12\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/carolina-hurricanes\/12\" target=\"_blank\">Carolina Hurricanes<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The 33-year-old Karlsson suffered an apparent upper-body injury midway though the second period of Thursday\u2019s Game 5 after taking a hit from Hurricanes defenceman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/sean-walker\/8480336\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/sean-walker\/8480336\" target=\"_blank\">Sean Walker<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Karlsson left the game and didn\u2019t return as Vegas lost its second straight game to trail 3-2 in the best-of-seven series. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Starting goalie <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/carter-hart\/8479394\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/player\/carter-hart\/8479394\" target=\"_blank\">Carter Hart<\/a> was not at Vegas\u2019 main practice on Saturday, but will be ready to play on Sunday, according to head coach John Tortorella. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Hart did not skate with the main group at practice as he skated on own at a different rink. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The 27-year-old has not been as sharp in the Stanley Cup Final after a brilliant start to his postseason in the first three rounds. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Hart has allowed four goals in each of the fives games so far in the series and now has a 2.71 goals-against average alongside a .891 save percentage over 21 playoff games. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI haven\u2019t been my best this series. I\u2019ll be better next game,\u201d Hart told reporters during a media availability.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A native of Sweden, Karlsson returned for the second round of the playoffs after being sidelined since early November with a lower-body injury. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Karlsson, who has been with the Golden Knights since they entered the NHL as an expansion team in 2017, has three goals and six assists over 15 playoff games this spring.
