The\u00a0New York Knicks<\/a>\u00a0have ended 53 years of misery for their fans with one of the greatest championship runs the NBA has ever seen.<\/p>\n

For that, they get a golf clap from oddsmakers as they look forward to next season. <\/p>\n

The Knicks may have won the NBA Finals in dominant fashion<\/a>, posting the highest playoff point differential in NBA history, but three teams are ahead of them on the 2027 championship odds board. <\/p>\n

2027 NBA championship odds<\/p>\n

The San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder opened as co-favorites to win the 2027 NBA championship at FanDuel. Next up are the Boston Celtics followed by the reigning champion Knicks who became the eighth different team to win a championship since 2019 Saturday night. <\/p>\n

The Knicks\u2019 odds after winning the Finals are strangely similar to their odds last year entering the season. Before the 2025-26 season tipped off, the Knicks were +900 to win a title behind the Thunder, Nuggets and Cavaliers.<\/p>\n

This offseason will be crucial for team president Leon Rose and the Knicks front office. Mitchell Robinson is an unrestricted free agent<\/a>, Miles McBride is eligible for an extension, and Landry Shamet has certainly outplayed his veteran minimum deal.<\/p>\n

To bring back the championship team, the Knicks would need to exceed the dreaded second apron, which comes with restrictions that would limit their roster flexibility for the season.<\/p>\n

The Thunder are in a similar position. They need to make decisions on key veteran rotation players like Luguentz Dort and Isaiah Hartenstein, who carry a high combined price tag.<\/p>\n

Betting on the NBA? <\/p>\n

The Celtics have some uncertainty ahead of them in the offseason. Rumors surrounding a potential Jaylen Brown trade have grown louder since Boston was eliminated in the first round and the C\u2019s still have a huge hole at center to fill.<\/p>\n

The Spurs are the one team bringing back a core that is both cost-controlled and battle-tested. By virtue of their youth, the Spurs can run out the exact same group without worrying about costs.<\/p>\n

As this season proved, there is no single path to a championship and chances are we\u2019ll see a ninth different team hoisting the Larry O\u2019Brien Trophy next summer.<\/p>\n
