\u201cThere is something special about the World Cup<\/a>, Australia playing,\u201d Socceroos supporter, Michael Odicho, says before the match has started. \u201cIt just brings everyone together, it doesn\u2019t matter what nationality you are. We all come as Australians together, one group, to celebrate.\u201d<\/p>\n The energy is crazy, Shivneil Mudaliar says. \u201cFor us as a country to be a part of it is just special.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t want to just participate, we want to win it,\u201d he adds. \u201cSo let\u2019s go. Let\u2019s win it.\u201d<\/p>\n Craig Foster, former Socceroo, is up front and centre of the crowd. Thirteen minutes into the match, he says Australia is looking \u201ccomfortable\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cIf the game was only 14 minutes long, we\u2019d be absolutely laughing. Champions!\u201d<\/p>\n As the second half starts, drumming resumes.<\/p>\n Konstandinos Iaspas is in a bright green jacket, drum strapped across his shoulders, holding a replica World Cup trophy. \u201cHopefully we\u2019ve got a few more goals to go for today. I look forward to lifting up this thing,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n The World Cup holds special meaning for fans, he says. \u201cSometimes you\u2019re kicking the ball from an early age, before you even know the English word. People are living and breathing the sport. It brings people together from different diverse backgrounds.<\/p>\n \u201cThe drum is giving the people a bit of enthusiasm, and once we score we will probably go a little bit louder.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s not too long before there\u2019s another goal. At 75 minutes, Connor Metcalfe scores again for Australia. Cue flailing limbs to match the wild scenes in Vancouver<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat a goal!\u201d Mugdha Das exclaims. \u201cI was not expecting that at all! Turkey had all the possession, but that\u2019s what we do!
