<\/a>Aruba.it Racing \u2013 Ducati celebrate Bulega\u2019s Misano hat-trick and another dominant WorldSBK weekend.<\/p>\nThe Aruba.it Racing \u2013 Ducati rider added victory in Sunday morning\u2019s Superpole Race and Sunday afternoon\u2019s Race 2 to his Saturday Race 1 triumph, leaving the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli with a perfect haul from the Pirelli Emilia-Romagna Round.<\/p>\n
Bulega has now won all 21 WorldSBK races held so far in 2026, and 25 in succession including the final four races of last season. Race 2 also marked his seventh hat-trick of the season, the first time a rider has achieved seven triple wins in a single WorldSBK campaign.<\/p>\n
It was also a landmark weekend for his place in Italian WorldSBK history, with Bulega moving past Marco Melandri for the most podiums by an Italian rider in the championship.<\/p>\n
Iker Lecuona again followed him home in both Sunday races, while Yari Montella completed the podium in both to seal a remarkable three third-place finishes from three starts at his home round.<\/p>\n
In the support categories, Albert Arenas struck back in WorldSSP to extend his championship lead, David Salvador won a WorldSPB thriller by just 0.039s over Australia\u2019s Carter Thompson, and Maria Herrera again held off Beatriz Neila in WorldWCR, this time by only 0.075s.<\/p>\n

Carter Thompson was again the standout Australian performer, backing up Saturday\u2019s WorldSPB podium with second place on Sunday. He missed victory by just 0.039s and leaves Misano having been in the victory fight in both Sportbike races.<\/p>\n
Remy Gardner rebounded from his Saturday crash with eighth in WorldSBK Race 2, his best result of the season so far. The GYTR GRT Yamaha rider had finished 13th in the Superpole Race before moving forward in the longer race.<\/p>\n Oli Bayliss had a mixed WorldSSP weekend. All on one page for your convenience.<\/p>\n WorldSBK Race Two Race 2 was not quite as straightforward at the start as Bulega\u2019s lights-to-flag official lead suggests.<\/p>\n Lecuona attacked early and challenged through the opening half-lap, but Bulega regained control and led all 21 laps. Once clear, he began to apply the pressure, and the decisive moment came on lap five. Bulega set the fastest lap of the race, a 1m32.735s, while Lecuona ran off at Turn 12, leaving the Italian with a more comfortable buffer.<\/p>\n From there, Bulega controlled the race to win by 5.101 seconds. His 21st win from 21 races this season drew him level with Toprak Razgatlioglu\u2019s 2025 season total for the second-highest number of wins in a single WorldSBK campaign, behind Alvaro Bautista\u2019s 27 in 2023.<\/p>\n Lecuona finished second for the 18th consecutive race, extending a record streak of runner-up finishes, while also helping deliver another Aruba.it Racing \u2013 Ducati one-two.<\/p>\n The battle for third was the main unresolved question for much of the race. Bassani had moved into the podium position early and looked set for a first Misano podium since 2023, keeping Montella at bay despite constant pressure.<\/p>\n But on lap 17, Bassani lost the front at Turn 8, La Quercia, while running third. He rejoined briefly but returned to pit lane and retired, ending what had been one of his strongest weekends of the season.<\/p>\n Montella inherited third and brought the Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati home for his third podium of the weekend. After the Aragon disappointment, Misano became an important reset: three races, three third places, and a move back to third in the championship.<\/p>\n Alex Lowes started from tenth after his Superpole Race retirement but recovered strongly to finish fourth for bimota, while Tarran Mackenzie claimed an excellent fifth, his best dry-weather WorldSBK result. He led all ten laps according to the official timing sheet and set a new race lap record of 1m31.945s on lap four.<\/p>\n Lecuona was closer in the sprint than he had been in Race 1, keeping Bulega honest in the early laps, but the Italian gradually edged away to bank another full set of Sunday morning points.<\/p>\n Montella took third, 7.422s from the win, giving Ducati another top-three lockout and ensuring the front row for Race 2 would be Bulega, Lecuona and Montella.<\/p>\n Axel Bassani finished fourth for bimota at the manufacturer\u2019s home round, ahead of Lorenzo Baldassarri and Miguel Oliveira. Oliveira\u2019s sixth was a strong result in his comeback weekend after injury, and it put him onto the second row for Race 2.<\/p>\n Alberto Surra crossed the line in fifth but was penalised for an unsafe rejoin and dropped to seventh, behind Baldassarri and Oliveira. With less headwind down the straight and a stronger rhythm from the start, he was able to build a gap and manage the race on his terms.<\/p>\n Booth-Amos was one of the Sunday standouts. The PTR Triumph rider had finished fourth on Saturday after a final-lap battle with Can \u00d6nc\u00fc and Jaume Masia, then backed that up with second place on Sunday, his best result of the season so far. He moved past Aldi Satya Mahendra and then held him off to the flag.<\/p>\n Mahendra completed the podium in third, giving AS BLU CRU Racing Team a double podium. The Indonesian had shown front-group pace early and set the fastest lap of the race on lap five with a 1m37.518s, but eventually had to settle for third behind Booth-Amos.<\/p>\n Masia finished fourth for Orelac Racing Verdnatura, while Jeremy Alcoba produced one of the rides of the race for Kawasaki WorldSSP Team, climbing from 19th on the grid to fifth. Mattia Casadei was sixth, ahead of Matteo Ferrari and Filippo Farioli.<\/p>\n Race 1 winner Valentin Debise started from pole but could not reproduce Saturday\u2019s late-race pace. He was classified ninth after a penalty, ahead of \u00d6nc\u00fc in tenth.<\/p>\n Oli Bayliss had been in the thick of the midfield fight but slipped to 16th after a mistake at Quercia. Salvador led the first two laps, Seabright led lap three, Salvador was back ahead on lap four, Thompson led laps five to eight, Salvador reclaimed the lead on laps nine and ten, Seabright led lap 11, and Salvador hit the front again on the final lap.<\/p>\n The Turn 8 and Curvone sequence became central to the race. Salvador was strong on the brakes at Turn 8, while Thompson repeatedly fought back through Curvone. On the final lap, Salvador made the decisive move stick and held Thompson off by less than half a tenth of a second.<\/p>\n Thompson\u2019s second place backed up his Saturday podium and was another excellent result for the Team BrCorse rider. Across the two Misano races, the Australian finished third and second, and again stood out as the leading Yamaha rider in the class.
