Image: QR <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/t.cfjump.com\/92797\/b\/287093\" rel=\"nofollow sponsored noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; vertical-align: middle;\" src=\"https:\/\/t.cfjump.com\/92797\/a\/287093\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Quinn appeared on the TV broadcast from the weekend\u2019s SpeedSeries event and revealed the circuit extension plans to pit lane reporter Chris Stubbs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re actually doing a bit of a track alteration, extension, whatever you want to call it this Christmas, so you\u2019ll have to wait for that,\u201d Quinn said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s around Turn 2, that\u2019s all I\u2019ll say,\u201d he added when asked to elaborate.<\/p>\n<p>Speedcafe understands the new layout is expected to extend the circuit to a total of 12 corners and add elevation to an otherwise flat venue.<\/p>\n<p>Track works are expected to happen in mid-to-late December, allowing the new surface to cure over the summer period in the national off-season.<\/p>\n<p>Quinn purchased a parcel of land to the west of Turn 2 in late 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/motorsport-news-2025-queensland-raceway-expansion-revealed-off-road-4wd\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">utilising it as an off-road park.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The existing 3.126km tarmac circuit is known as \u2018The Paperclip\u2019 due to its compact and somewhat simplistic design.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring four right hand corners and only two left, the layout has received mixed reactions since the circuit opened in 1999.<\/p>\n<p>Plans for track extensions have been mooted for several years.<\/p>\n<p>Ideas included an Oran Park-style crossover bridge and an extension built off the existing Turn 6 running back towards Champions Way.<\/p>\n<p>The circuit has undergone significant upgrades since Quinn bought it in 2021, including the construction of pit lane garages, corporate facilities and other paddock infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Quinn also brought the Supercars Championship back to the venue in 2025 after a six-year absence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Tony Quinn has teased planned circuit extensions for Queensland Raceway.
