Love Island couple Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague have finally announced their son\u2019s name, and it\u2019s fair to say, not everyone is a fan. <\/p>\n
And in keeping up with the tradition of giving their children unique names, this one takes the cake. <\/p>\n
The newest addition to the Fury-Hague household is Midas, with the famous UK couple making the announcement at Fury\u2019s fight against the world\u2019s strongest man, Eddie Hall, on Sunday morning (AEST). <\/p>\n
The unusual moniker was emblazoned on Fury\u2019s jacket, with the proud dad-of-two showing it off moments before the match kicked off.<\/p>\n
Fury also had his daughter\u2019s name, Bambi, written on the back of his shorts.<\/p>\n

After beating Hall, Fury put on an England shirt adorned with \u2018Midas\u2019 and the number two written on the back, while his partner, Hague, watched ringside and supported him during his fight.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis was for my new baby son, Midas,\u201d Fury told the crowd after his win. <\/p>\n
\u201cWelcome to the world!\u201d<\/p>\n
The couple had teased their son\u2019s name would come during Fury\u2019s walk to the ring, with fans divided over the big reveal. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s almost like they don\u2019t know the story of King Midas,\u201d one person wrote. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhy Midas? His story isn\u2019t exactly a positive one,\u201d a second shared. <\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s a terrible name,\u201d echoed a third. <\/p>\n

A few Australians even chimed in and reminded Fury that Midas is the name of a car service and auto repair chain in Australia. <\/p>\n
The name Midas isn\u2019t something the couple picked randomly; it actually originates from Greek and Roman mythology. <\/p>\n
The infamous King Midas is a figure from ancient mythology who was cursed with the \u201cgolden touch\u201d, resulting in everything he touched turning to gold. <\/p>\n
Thesedays it\u2019s more commonly used in the popular expression, \u201cthe Midas touch\u201d, which describes the ability to be exceptionally lucky.<\/p>\n
Hague previously teased that their son\u2019s name would be revealed in Fury\u2019s boxing match, saying that she\u2019d been thinking about putting their new son\u2019s name on his shorts in a recent vlog.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been designing Tommy\u2019s shorts for his fight, and I\u2019m thinking about potentially putting I don\u2019t know if we\u2019re going like I don\u2019t [because] I don\u2019t know what the timeline\u2019s going to be,\u201d she said in a recent YouTube vlog.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m thinking, do I put the name of baby number two on his fight shorts? Because he always has Bambi\u2019s name on his fight shorts, and I don\u2019t want to leave the second baby off. <\/p>\n
\u201cBut also maybe that\u2019s how we announce the name is on his fight shorts. That would actually be quite cool.\u201d<\/p>\n
The pair welcomed their son in early June, posting a collaborative photo on Instagram of the couple with their first child, Bambi, and their newborn in the hospital, captioning it, \u201cand then there were 4\u201d. <\/p>\n
The post drew more than 1.5 million likes within two hours of posting as fans and friends flooded the comments with support. <\/p>\n
Hague has continued to sporadically post about the new bundle of joy, posting a photo of her in the hospital with Midas, captioning it, \u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019ll ever get over this day \u2026. the most incredible birth I could have ever asked for\u201d. <\/p>\n
It\u2019s not the first time the couple have copped backlash for their choice in baby name, with Bambi\u2019s moniker sparking concern among fans when she was born back in 2019. <\/p>\n
At the time, the popular influencer had even admitted the name they had chosen their first born was \u201creally, really unusual\u201d, even going as far to speculate many would \u201chate it\u201d.<\/p>\n
