A delightful treat, even if it’s not what we’d originally ordered.

Colorado prospect Cole Carrigg is now six games into his major-league career and has given us two crispy, flavorful onion rings but zero fries — and, hey, nobody is complaining. We can feel confident the fries are on their way eventually, because Carrigg swiped 30 bags at Triple A prior to his call up. He’s a lock to steal bases. Power contributions seemed less certain, but he’s taken advantage of favorable hitting environments (Coors Field, then Sacramento), producing an OPS of .891 over his first 26 MLB plate appearances. He hasn’t yet appeared overmatched.

Cole Carrigg puts the @Rockies ahead with one big swing 😮 pic.twitter.com/46b4q36q0U

— MLB (@MLB) June 13, 2026

Carrigg, age 24, is a switch-hitter who was slashing .338/.414/.529 at Albuquerque and scoring nearly a run per game. His bat speed has been exceptional (75.1 mph), and he clearly has difference-making fantasy potential in at least one category. He’s hit well enough to this point to earn a near-everyday role in Colorado even when the team’s usual outfield options return from the IL. If you have a fantasy roster with speed needs, there’s a good chance Carrigg is the best answer on the wire.

Elvis Alvarado might be a thing

It may feel as if the Athletics have been trolling the fantasy community this season, because … well, because that is definitely what they’ve been doing. Nine different pitchers have earned saves for the team, seven of whom have saved more than one game. We probably shouldn’t get too excited about any member of the Athletics’ bullpen.

That said, only one dude on the A’s managed to hit 102.7 mph with his fastball last week, and he did so while locking down Saturday’s save. Alvarado hasn’t exactly been flawless this season, but you can’t say he doesn’t offer the traditional closing arsenal (fastball/slider), with extreme velocity. Since being recalled in early June, Alvarado has struck out 11 batters over 5.1 innings while allowing no runs, no walks and only one hit. He’s worked the ninth in his past two appearances, shutting the door with overwhelming heat.

Ideally, you will limit yourself to only one Athletics reliever on your fantasy roster at any given time. Alvarado is looking like the best and most dominant option at the moment. I’d add him over any other bullpen flier this week, including all those bad ideas in Seattle.

Nationals prospect Yohandy Morales is crushing in Rochester

Morales has launched 15 home runs over 60 games at Triple A, hitting .336/.411/.587 while ranking among the International League leaders in almost every stat that matters. At 24 years old, he’s emerged this season as a serious prospect of interest. Look at this easy opposite field power:

yoyo 🫨

that’s 1️⃣3️⃣ HR on the season for yohandy morales! pic.twitter.com/SeBTsBCqP3

— Nationals Player Development (@Nats_PlayerDev) June 2, 2026

Defensively, he’s split his time between first and third this season, and he isn’t blocked by anyone too intimidating at either spot in Washington. He’s slashed his K rate this season, too. It shouldn’t be long before he gets a look at the big-league level. Morales is a reasonable stash for anyone in need of assistance in the power categories.

Hey, remember Tommy Edman? Well, he’s coming back

Edman concluded a relatively successful rehab assignment at Triple-A Oklahoma City over the weekend and is expected to be activated by the Dodgers during the upcoming Rays series. Presumably, Edman will take over as the team’s regular second baseman. He hasn’t attempted to steal during his visit to the minors, a small concern for a player returning from ankle surgery. Let’s hope his speed has not been compromised by injury, because it’s the trait that’s historically been the key to his fantasy value.

Still, Edman is a capable hitter attached to a stellar lineup, and he offers a degree of positional flexibility. Give him a look if you need a multi-tool for your fantasy bench. Edman’s the sort of player who can help us reach a seasonal games max.

Cooper Pratt gets the call

Not that the Brewers needed any help, but it’s on the way nonetheless. Pratt is headed to Milwaukee following a solid half season at Nashville (6 HR, 17 SB) at age 21. Much of his value is tied to his defense at shortstop, but he’s a willing walker with speed and on-base skills. Pratt is probably more interesting in real-life than in fantasy, but he’s on the radar in various hipster formats.

Walbert Ureña and other streaming delights

Some weeks, streaming is a brutal grind. But this is not shaping up to be one of those weeks, friends. You can deploy any of these two-start options with at least modest enthusiasm:

Walbert Ureña, Angels (at ARI, at ATH) — Ureña has made 10 starts so far this season, allowing two earned runs or fewer in eight of them. Walks have been an issue for the 22-year-old flamethrower, but no one has hit this gentleman (.204 BAA). It’s all Ks, walks and ground balls. I’m interested.
Dustin May, Cardinals (vs. SD, at KC) —May has rarely been as fantasy relevant as the version we’ve seen over the past two months. In fact, if we toss out the first two starts of his season (which is totally cheating and we shouldn’t do it), he’s been an absolute ace: 2.89 ERA, 2.86 FIP, 59 K in 65.1 IP. You may have been burned by May before, but, well … get over it. He’s rolling right now and headed into a pair of matchups with user-friendly lineups.
J.T. Ginn, Athletics (vs. PIT, vs. LAA) — Ginn has a balanced five-pitch arsenal with significant strikeout potential. He has a 10-K start on his resume this year and a career K/9 rate of 8.9. Like Ureña, Ginn tends to keep the ball on the ground. His upcoming matchups shouldn’t scare you away.
Reid Detmers, Angels (at ARI, at ATH) — OK, sure, Detmers is a carnival ride of a pitcher. We all recognize it. (And just to be clear: I’m not talking about a high-end carnival, the kind with safety protocols and soap in the restrooms.) There’s a level of risk here with Detmers. He’s definitely not for everyone. But he’s also delivered 97 Ks in 81 innings this year, including 44 over his past five starts. He also enters the week with a career-best 1.05 WHIP.
Brandon Young, Orioles (at SEA, at LAD) — Young has avoided getting rocked so far this season, producing acceptable fantasy ratios (3.04 ERA, 1.24 WHIP). He’s basically a low-risk compiler. He’s won each of his past two starts and allowed only seven earned runs over his past five.

Whenever a player we’d rostered exclusively for their base-stealing ability delivers an unexpected home run, it’s like finding…

[558
64,63,11250,591,85
post-738441","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mlb","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-fantasy-baseball","tag-mlb","tag-sports
["GET
